Finally, the long-awaited full-length picture of Home is Where the Heart Is. Finished. Fini. Finito. No matter how you say it, this puppy is done.
And this was my goal for the:
It took me more than two years to make. I love the way the striped binding blends in with the log cabin border.
And my talented quilter, Erin, did such a beautiful job on the quilting.
I posted pictures of the individual blocks earlier in the year. If you would like to see each one, click right here.
And in case you thought I was exaggerating about what a production it is to take a picture of a large quilt in my little house, this image will give you some idea. We took this picture while we were testing the remote shutter function on my camera. We had to move an end table, a coffee table, a lamp, a couch, and a recliner, and then bring two dining room chairs into the living room to stand on so that we could hold it up high enough. But for your viewing pleasure it is totally worth it!
So, whaddaya say?

What a darling quilt! I love everything about it - the design, the colours, the quilting :-) To take a picture of it must have been a challenge!
Wow, it's huge, it sure doesn't look that big in the first picture. Congratulations! It's beautiful!
Oh Barbara - just lovely. Wonderfully quilted and I am so delighted to see this one finished - well, not as much as you. And an acrobat as well!

Whoop whoop for sure!! It's gorgous! What a fun winter quilt it will be. I have to be more careful when I read, because what I read was the stupid binding blending with the log cabin??? I was just about to comment on why it was stupid, when I realized I am an idiot! hehehe Striped not stupid! :-) A big pat on the back to ya! Enjoy your beauty!
It looks fantastic! Bet it is a nice heavy one too:) That is cool that you had some helpers in getting a good shot. Sometimes it is sooo hard to take a decent pic of a quilt ya know?!

Whoop Whoop! Love this one... so much to look at! I would never have the patience to make one myself so it's nice to see yours LOL!
It's FANTASTIC! Those are neat calendar blocks, and I just love the heart motifs she quilted in the corner blocks. Thanks for going to the effort of moving everything around so you could share a good pic of a great quilt. :D
Whoop whoop! Indeed! That is spectacular! I just got back in from customer calls, and this was such a wonderful post to read when I returned. It is gorgeous, and I love the striped binding - great job, girl!
Beautiful quilt! Love the striped binding, it does echo the log cabin blocks. Congratulations on the finish!
You really should look into a photography backdrop frame for your quilt photography. It's much, much easier!
Really lovely! I adore the colours you used. Whoop Whoop for you.

What a work of art! AbsoLUTEly fabulous!
Lovely quilt - and your binding is the absolutely perfect pick! Thanks for moving all the furniture for your readers ;-))
I say that's a pretty amazing quilt!! Whoop whoop!!
Lovely! Wonderful job on that quilt. I never have 'help' in photographing my quilts, so, I just move the kitchen table out of the kitchen, and lay the quilt on the floor. Angle isn't very good, but, at least I get a picture that way. I sure do wish we could have a clothes line.
