Sneaking in a Post

Yeah…I did say I wasn’t blogging, and really, I’m not. Consider this a figment of your imagination. I just wanted to share a few pictures. We’re just hanging out and relaxing. That bad cat, Sadie, isn’t with us. She managed to hide in a spot from which we could not retrieve her just a few minutes before we planned to load her into the camper. We waited for a couple of hours, and she wouldn’t come down. We left her with plenty of food and water, self-dispensing kitty treats, and a self-cleaning litter robot, and she’ll be fine while we’re gone. That just means Smitty has to do the work of two cats on this trip: twice the snuggling, a whole can of cat food to himself, the whole catio in which to rest his weary bones. It’s a hard job, but he’s holding his own.

We arrived on the Fourth of July. This is the view of the lake from our site.

We took a little walk around. Here are some of the blooming things we saw.

There were fireworks over the lake (a pretty good show!) on the Fourth. We watched through the trees.

Of course, I baked a cherry pie for two. Isn’t it sort of required on the Fourth?

We didn’t put the boat in the water until the next day.

It’s been cloudy and cool in the mornings, but the sun comes out after lunch. We’re expecting weather like this all week. We’ve been here when it rained the whole time, and when it was really hot, so this weather seems very nice.

Hope you had a good Fourth. But, honestly, I’m not blogging. So pretend you didn’t see this, and sew on.

A lake is a landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature. It is Earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature. ~ Henry David Thoreau

Yes, I read and enjoyed this post but will pretend I didn't. Looks like a pretty spot and yummy cherry pie! :)

Ha! So Sadie found a way to get her revenge for that vet visit. She may regret it when she comes out and discovers her partner in crime isn't there. Pretty views and a delicious looking pie. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Is this what we call 'ghost writing'?

You send out great vibes and have a lot of psyhic followers. Maybe sweet Sadie went into hiding as she heard about Fireworks, or maybe she heard about lake swimming? Either way, I hope she doesn't have any wild parties with your squirrels while you are away.

Are you sure Smitty didn't plan to be the only cat on this trip? Or is he missing his ktty buddy? Hope you had a great get away this week. It looks like a lovely place to hang out and relax. So glad the temps cooperated too.

Oh dear, naughty Sadie, you must have been rather criss sith her for hiding away. At the very least she will have her own self catering holiday, and will realise that she misses you all like crazy and wont do this trick ever again!
