A Family Visit

We had a nice visit from Mike's sister yesterday. It was, unfortunately, a rainy day, and so we spent the entire day sitting on our ample rear ends talking. And to top it off, we went for Mexican food at a new-to-us restaurant just down the road. It was very good, which is probably a dangerous thing to know. I didn't think to take any pictures of Mike and Meredith, and so I'm recycling one from a few years ago on a sunnier day.

Of course, we had to clean the place up to get ready for Meredith's visit, and that meant vacuuming. And since most of the vacuuming had to do with cat fuzz being shed with wild abandon right now, we started out with a good cat brushing session. They both love brushing, but they are moving targets.

Hey...are you guys brushing? Without me?

Oh yeah...that's what I'm talkin' about...

Step aside, Smitty...let a sister show you how it's done.

Back off, Mister. The queen has arrived, and it's my turn now.

Okay...that's enough. Carry on, Smitty. He's all yours.

Prior to that, I got a start on my newest project, Friendship's Garden. What a fun piece with all that color!

The weather is supposed to improve this morning. I was doing really well with my 10k steps for about three days. The last three days...not so much. I'll get back to it today, and since there's nothing else on the agenda, it should be easy to do.

I love the fuzzy faces! Hand stitching is a great thing to do on a wet weather day.

Mmmm, nothing like a good brushing! They both look quite healthy & happy :)

Sounds like you had a good time with Mike's sister. It's always nice to share a meal & conversation.

Love how colorful the new stitchery is! Fun!

Your embroidery is looking so cute. I would say those two are happy after their brushing.

Well, they are definitely siblings, they have the same smile. Glad that you have time to visit with family, not glad that you had a rainy day. We are expecting a warm up this week. I think spring is on its way. Finally!

My three love to be brushed, too. All I have to do is hold the brush out and Max rubs his face on it!

What a cute post. Those kitties sure do "talk a lot" but seem to get along in the end. I know exactly how they feel about getting their brushings -- probably feels as good as it does when I get my hair washed and styled at a beauty shop (once in a blue moon.) I love a rough head scrubbing by someone else's hands. :)
