November NewFO Linky Party and Giveaway

Here we are again on the last day of the month of November.  I hate to point, but Christmas is right around the corner.  Let's not think about that just now.  Instead, look backward and show us the projects you started during the month of November.  As for me, I made a doll quilt for my partner in the November Doll Quilt Swap.

I call this quilt "Turkey in the Straw".  Also, I started one of my long-time to-do list projects.  Here's what the quilt will look like when it's finished:

And here are the first two blocks:

I'm calling this project "Yard Art".  That flamingo fabric is the first fabric I purchased when I started building my stash.  Mike and I had just returned from a scuba diving trip in Bonaire where they have wild flamingos.  And just so you know I'm not just kidding around, here's a picture of them.

Not to be left out, Mr. Snowy Egret moved into the picture in the lower right-hand corner.  Camera ham.  It's pretty cool when the flamingos fly overhead like geese.  Now, that's something you don't see every day.  But I digress.

So that's it for me during November.  Now I'm ready to see what you started during November.  So let the party begin!  Link up and show all of us what you've been up to for the month.  If you link up, you'll be entered to win this month's quilt pin:

There is only one linky part left in 2012, so this is almost your last chance to win one of these babies.

But don't despair.  The NewFO Challenge will be back in 2013 with more prizes each month!

2013NewFO

And speaking of prizes, be ready to post some of the projects you'd like to start in 2013 when I post the 2013 NewFO Challenge Linky Party and Giveaway on December 17th!  Of course, everyone who links up will be entered to win a fabulous fat quarter bundle.  I'll tell you more about that later.  Just put together your post and be ready to link up when the party starts!  Not sure what to post?  Click here to see the party from last year.  And if you're not sure what a NewFO is, click on the 2013 NewFO Challenge button just above to read all about it.

And now, on with the party!  Please link-up with your newly started projects, finished or not.  If you feel like it, show us the progress you've made on your other 2012 NewFO projects.  Please link to your blog post, not your blog.  To do that, just click on the title of your post to isolate it from the rest of your blog.  Then copy the URL and use that to link up.  Don't have a blog?  Link to my FlickR group.  If you have questions about how to do that or about how to link up, please email me.  And if you're having trouble posting your image, email it to me as an attachment, and I'll do it for you.

I'm looking forward to see your new projects!  I'll leave this linky open for one week...until 12/7 and then announce the winner.  International entries are welcome.  So come on and party with me!

It's not a sewing project but I'm still excited about it. I had to share the new painting I started on Wednesday.

Thanks for letting me show it off.

I can't think that far ahead, lol. I am just making things and trying to get what I can done, then will have to stop. My husband has a hernia operation coming up, so I lose my errand boy for awhile and more work for me to take care of things he does, so will need to rest.

I'm sharing a paper pieced block I have just done but aren't sure what to do with it next!! Make it into a mini quilt or make more sewing-themed blocks and make a wall hanging?

The flamingo project looks so fun! Nice way to commemorate your trip and the fabric that started your stash.

Your Yard Art project is going to be so cute. No new projects in November, maybe I'll get at least one in December.

I didn't start a new one till the end of the month. Waited for Bonnie's new mystery quilt to start. Now to keep up with that one, and to move forward on all the rest of them too. I want to get my UFO pile down below 10 in 2013.

Wow - I just slid in under the wire! I had a little trouble linking up for some reason and I think I may be on there twice - oops! Hope you can remove the 2nd one with no problems?

Love your picture of the flamingos with the one poor lonely little egret :*)

LOL - I'm always starting things. Glad you're doing the 2013 NewFo - will take away the guilt of starting things. I have to now so I can report.
