It's Giveaway Day!


It's Giveaway day at Sew Mama Sew!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I have a fabulous prize for you, so I'll just get right to it.  It's a six fat quarter bundle of Elements by Pat Bravo.

I will spend the whole day with my husband and son. I will grill. Part of the day we will garden. My son will be all dirty and have lots of fun in the garage and garden. It's nice to have my husband home for the day!

Our little town has a Memory Days celebration with a parade. Our church has a booth with pork chop sandwiches- super yum. There's also a quilt show in the courthouse that I may enter.

I have tons of stuff that I really don't want to get rid of, but because of all of mother in law's stuff, I don't have room for it, either in the house or in the garage.

Being in Canada, our long weekend is right now. I spent it gardening and sewing - two of my favourite things! Next weekend, I plan more of the same, and I'll be wishing for another long weekend :)

Unfortunately in Europe we don't 'celebrate'-hold memorial day-as I know we have so many others like this in Hungary but at that time we stay at home together or visit grandparents-but not because of this occasion. rarely go out that time 'cause our society's lil bit temperamental in national things ...

On Memorial Day we always have a big neighborhood breakfast at our house! I make the pancakes and everyone else brings something to share! We usually have around 100 people! It's something we look forward to all year! Thanks for the opportunity to win such a great giveaway! :)

Our standing plans for that weekend is to head to Remus, MI for the Wheatland Music Org.'s Traditional Arts Weekend. Mostly music and dance classes, some art/craft classes as well. Camping, dancing, performances, friends and lots of chances for my 4 yo son to have fun learning...looking forward to it!

We don't have Memorial Day but we've got the Queen's Jubilee coming up in 2 weeks which means we get spring bank holiday and then jubilee day off work- yey for 4 day weekend! I will be selling at a craft fair on the monday and visiting family on the weekend. Tuesday will be my sewing day!

I follow my family tradition of visiting the cemetaries and leaving flowers on the graves of family and friends. It generally takes two days - for my family and then my husband's. Some people still call it Decoration Day.

We had our Victoria day weekend this weekend here in Canada. We went to visit my parents and had a nice time seeing my sister and her kin too.
i tried to get a bit of quilting done today too.

We have two pets that were named Mars and Venus. We still have Mars the cat but sadly no longer have Venus the dog. Venus was definitely a gentle giant - quite loving.

We have Queen's Birthday weekend coming up here in NZ and I will joyfully be 1) not working, 2) hosting family from out of town, 3) studying for exams, 4) having coffee with the girls, 5) whipping up a new quilt with the Tradewinds layer cake that just arrived (!!!), and (last but never least) 6) spending quality cuddle time with Zorro, Flash and Lil' Fluff (btw, that's code for BRUSHING them).
