March NewFO Link-up and Giveaway

Can you believe it's the last day of March already?  It's time to link-up your NewFO projects started over the past month.  And if you like, update us on the NewFO projects you've started in 2012.  Remember, you don't have to finish anything to link up.  The goal here is to start something new.  Collect a whole year's worth of NewFO projects, and you'll have something to do when everyone starts up their UFO challenges in 2013!  It's a win-win!  If you haven't linked up before now, it's fine to join in at any time.

Everyone who links up will be entered to win this month's quilt pin.  I'll draw a winner at random one week from today.

Please be sure to link only to your blog post and not to your whole blog.  To do that, just click on the title of your post.  That will isolate your post from the rest of your blog.  Copy the URL and then link up below.  If you're having trouble, please feel free to send your link to me via email and I'll be happy to do it for you.  And please be sure to leave me a valid email address.  If I can't contact you, you can't win.

So here's what I started this month:

Winged Dreams, which is a quilt I'm making for a friend's September birthday:

I still need to add the borders to this one, but it's going together fairly quickly.  This is a free pattern off the internet.  I was excited when I saw it because I already had the exact same fabrics leftover from another project.  I think my friend will like this.

Also, I caught up to the others on the Hello Sun block of the month going on over at April Mae Designs.  These blocks are so cheerful and cute.  I'm excited for the April block to come out tomorrow.

Finally, I started yet another embroidered block of the month called Vintage Miniature Sewing Machines that I saw on Pastimes Online.  I've finished the embroidery for the first month, and I'm waiting to receive the kit for the second month.

And just to catch you up on my NewFO progress, here's what's going on in other NewFO news:

In January, I started the Amish Sampler, which is still in progress.  I'm doing it as my own personal block of the month.  During March, I made the Nine Patch on Point blocks:

Also, in January, I started two doll quilts:  Pretty Little Ponies and Castle in the Air.  Both are finished now.

Also, I started the Promises & Borders BOM and I am up-to-date on that one as well.

Finally, I completed the quilt top I started in February.  Just yesterday I dropped it off with my long-arm quilter.

I know.  It's hardly fair to actually finish projects when the goal is only to start them.  That's just how I roll.

So now I'm ready to see what you've started during the month of March.  And if you feel like it, show us the progress you're making on your other NewFO projects.

I love the variety of projects you do. You remind me so much of me - eclectic! Okay, some people call it ADHD, but what do they know?

Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures! I have a giveaway going on my desertskyquilts.livejournal.com site, if you want to check it out. Give you more things to do. LOL

Your ufos are going to be great quilts - you're making a lot of progress on them. I thought I posted in Feb but guess I was too busy trying to finish January's that I forgot - LOL.

Wow Barbara, so much good quilty eye candy here! I love that you are doing the Amish Sampler as a BOM, I may have to try that!

Glad I didn't miss the Linky for March. I never expected to participate this much (or at all given all the UFOs I have to work on) but am having a lot of fun doing so. I guess new projects are in all of our blood!
