Quickie

Good morning, my friends. It's smooth sailing ahead. Except for getting our vaccine boosters, I think I have all routine medical procedures behind me. Yesterday's procedure was uneventful, and the findings were an improvement over my last go-round. That was good news. Unless I hear otherwise, I believe I won't need another one for five years.

When it was all over, we headed directly to the Black Bear Diner and had a big breakfast, despite it being lunch time. For whatever reason, that sounded really good to me in the moment. It did not disappoint. They served up the most enormous biscuit I've ever seen. When we got home, I slept hard for a couple of hours...probably residual sedation from anesthesia. The rest of the afternoon was pretty much sitting around doing nothing.

So, I don't have much news for you today. We're doing our grocery shopping, and then my calendar is clear. I can spend the rest of the day sewing. I'll get busy doing the top-stitching for the two Northern Wilderness blocks.

The top-stitching can be time-consuming, but I still think I can finish these this afternoon.

Thanks to my friend, Chris K., for directing me to the Quilt Inspiration blog yesterday where they featured two quilts made from this same pattern. I fell in love with this pattern when I first saw it. You can see two finished versions right here.

Having finished all the blocks for Land and Sea means I'm adding a new project to my list of WIPs. I want to make this quilt called Stair Steps. It'll be a good way to use plenty of scraps in all colors.

Aside from grocery shopping, there's nothing else on the day's calendar. Once we've accumulated food for the week's menu, it'll be NBS for me. (Nothing but sewing.)

Before I go, though, let me show you a photo I received yesterday while I was awaiting my turn with the doctor. This really brightened my day.

Awwwwwwwww.

Okay, so that's it from me today. The grocery store is awaiting our arrival.
