Good morning, my friends! Is it starting to feel like the same old, same old yet? I'm not quite there yet, but things feel a little more settled-down to me. It's the calm before the storm of new carpet installation in a couple of weeks. My monthly pedicure is today, and so I'm venturing out for the first time in several days. When I'm finished with that, I'll make a quick stop at the grocery store. If I pick up just a few things, we won't have to go back until next week.
There was a slight change of plans yesterday. For one thing, the kitties made a new year's resolution to switch places for morning sleeping. Sadie took the top rack of the kitty pole.
If you're interested in this quilt-along, it's completely free, and you don't need the panel to participate. I liked the panel, and so I decided to go with it, purchasing the small panel. There are also borders that go with it, but I'm sticking with just the panel. So before I could do anything else, I needed to sandwich my panel.
With that finished, I could start on the Cats in Pajamas. I'd selected this background fabric from my stash of cat fabrics. It's a little more pastel than it looks in this picture. It too has been in my stash since before recorded history.
So, I'm writing fast this morning. I still need to eat some breakfast and then there should be enough time for slow-stitching before I need to get myself around and go. Aside from my pedicure and a grocery stop, there's nothing else on the day's agenda. Sue and I are having breakfast on Friday, and I'll hand off the Ties & Tails quilt for her hubby. What remains of the week should be pretty quiet.
How is your back-to-normal looking now? Did you start any new projects in the new year?

That panel is great - going to look so pretty when it's quilted.
Talk about a perfect background fabric for your PJ's project! Proves that if you hold onto something long enough you'll find a use for it. Hmmm....best I not listen to myself on that one because I'm trying to downsize my stash and hanging onto things for a maybe-someday-too-good-to-use-now-because-it's-not-perfect isn't likely such a good plan.
That panel is really cool looking. What a great way to enhance your skills. Love the fabrics you've chosen for the Cat's Pajamas. That's going to be such a fun quilt. I've not started a new project yet, but I have pulled fabrics for a my quilt along.
Your half cat is so cute!
I've been in TX since Dec 13th, so neither old nor new projects have been worked on, although I am helping my grandson make a placemat. I fly home tomorrow, but the electric company sent out a notice that our power will be off from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM on Saturday (in the middle of winter, no less) while they perform a critical infrastructure replacement. So maybe I'll get back to the machine next week. Have fun with the Angela Walters project. She is such a stitch (pun intended).

Doing a bit of purging here. My son and I are resolute: we will no longer accept "almost new" pillows from well-meaning close relatives. Do you know how hard it is to stuff 30 pillows in a trash can? And yes, I was going to recycle/reuse. But it has become clear that I don't really make a lot of pillows. On other fronts, I recently made an Elizabeth Hartman pattern. It took a bit of concentration to start with. But once I just trusted her instructions (I am rather stubborn about "do it myself - still"), I just flew through the creatures. It was rather relaxing to have someone else figure out all the itty bits. Have fun!
I love how the cat is progressing and the panel for the dot to dot is cool.
