It was a beautiful day yesterday with sunshine all day and relative warmth. We could still use a little more of the warmth, but it's always nice to see the sun. It's supposed to rain today, but we'll get more sunshine tomorrow and for the next day or two. When I opened the sliding glass door, these two were chomping at the bit to get outside and murder something.
I'm super happy about the crocus. The squirrels are liking them too. Fortunately, there aren't enough squirrels out and about yet to do too much damage.
This one is a little beaten up by the rain, but still a pretty purple.
This white one reminds me I simply must take a little stroll down in the woods to see if the trilliums are blooming.
Mike used the day to clean up some of the limbs in the yard. He worked at it most of the day and got a lot done. One particularly large limb was blocking access to the sidewalk from one direction that leads to the greenhouse. Smitty was put off by the noise of the chainsaw. Also, there aren't enough things out running around to kill yet. We're waiting for warmer weather for more murder and mayhem.
He was still mad when he came downstairs to help me with my sewing.
I made another row of six blocks for the City Bank quilt. I need two more rows of six blocks each before it will be ready to sew together.
Here are all the blocks I have so far. It's going to end up a large quilt. Each block is 11 x 11 inches. It probably won't need any borders to finish it off.
I'm running out of green and blue scraps large enough to make these blocks, and so I'm adding in more purple.
Today I'll get to work on the fifth block for the Ties & Tails quilt. This is where I left it last time I worked on it. The next block will be one similar to the gray cat in the upper left corner.
It will probably take a day or two to make it. There's another housekeeping chore on my list today...something I should have done several days ago, and so no procraftinating. Little by little, the house is getting put back into shape, both inside and out.
Today is Sunday. Blueberry oatmeal pancakes for breakfast. It's sounding pretty good right about now.

It is too bad that the kitties can’t find anything out to kill but I am guessing that is also the reason you currently don’t have any coyotes near by. We in Vancouver have been seeing lots this year. They really moved in close. In the area near Fiddlesticks, Joe’s farm place has been sold as Joe’s kids didn’t want to keep running it. Joe decided last summer to sell and the store closed on Dec 31st. Developers have begun clearing out all the old orchards and berry patches and building houses. It has driven the coyotes into the neighborhoods looking for food. Unfortunately, that dinner sometimes includes kitties. We have also only seen one bunny this year. In years past by this time we have seen many more, between the raptors and coyotes they have been thinned considerably. Now if they would just take care of all the rats in the area I would be much happier.
Every time I see your City Bank quilt blocks the old country song "he's in the jail house now" comes to mind, just saying, lol. Poor Smitty really does look put out in those photos. Sammy has rediscovered the great outdoors but he has to come inside to eat and sleep (not to mention use the litterbox) so maybe our flower gardens will stand a chance.
The warmth of the sun sure makes the bones feel better. Good to see your cat patrol doing there job even though nothing was found. I’m sure they enjoyed stretching their legs.

Oh, those crocus are so pretty. The simplicity of the white one is just amazing. I'm sure the kitties are anxious to get out and do some hunting, and I'm glad you are getting the house back in shape (I'm sure it wasn't all that bad). Things are looking good at Three Cats Ranch!
