Okay...so aside from giving stuff away, I've been working away on the Shop Hop quilt. The 7th of 8 rows is finished now. Just one more to go to call this a finished flimsy. Here are yesterday's additions.

Homespun Quilts & Yarn was a delightful little shop close to where we cross the tall scary bridge into Washington. You can find their web presence right here, and my blog post about it right here. Astoria is just up the road from where the wreck of the Peter Iredale can be seen along the Oregon coastline,

and so I chose this fabric. Possibly the Peter Iredale might have looked like one of these tall-masted ships in its better days.

Next, this memorable little shop in New Orleans. We were there just before the 300th celebration of Mardi Gras, and so this fabric seemed the perfect choice.

When I try to link to their website, I get a message that the site is "temporarily unavailable." I'm not sure what that means, but I think the shop is still open. Here's a link to their Facebook page. It was a shop Fibber McGee would have been proud of, stuffed to overflowing with fabrics and other merchandise. You can find my blog post about it right here.

This next shop was a sweet little shop. It was a small store, but with so many beautiful fabrics and friendly service. They have a kitty on their website...ya gotta love that, don't you? You can see their website and their kitty right here. My blog post about it is right here. It was hard to choose a regional fabric that was fitting, but we were staying right along the beach when we visited this store, and so I chose this "beachy" print. In looking back, I might also have been thinking of the pennants hanging at the RV dealership we'd visited just before. Mike eventually drove all the way from Oregon to South Carolina to purchase our new RV there.

This next shop was an interesting find. We were staying in Rodanthe, North Carolina, visiting the Outer Banks. We'd driven north on the day we visited this shop, which turned out to be a lot of fun. It wasn't a "quilt shop" in the strictest sense of the word, but the "& More" in their name included quilting fabric. The RV park where we stayed in Rodanthe was right along the beach, and it was one of the first shell beaches we'd been to. I chose this fabric:

Finally, this block from Zook's Fabric Store. What a wonderful and interesting store this was. Their web presence is right here. Zook's was one of the stores I visited during the day with my friend Robin there in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. You can read my blog post about our day right here. I chose this fabric for the many barns with quilt blocks we'd seen on our journey.

So...another row done, and here's how the quilt is looking. It's getting so large now, it's hard to find a space large enough to spread it out for a picture.

Sadie knows how to keep warm.

Smitty is disgusted by the icy wind that's been blowing for several days.

When Sadie isn't snuggled up under a quilt, she thinks the fireplace is a good place to be too.

Today I'm getting my monthly pedicure, but that's the only thing on my agenda. I have some cranberries left over from the Christmas Jam I made last week. I'm thinking I might make a coffee cake with those. As for sewing, I'm going to get to work on the last of the Tuxedo's Tales blocks. What's going on in your sewing room today?
