Checking In or Out

We're heading over to Ft. Stevens State Park, and I don't know if I'll be blogging. It always depends on whether there is internet access, but I'll be here if I can. We've been to Ft. Stevens before, but  it was many years ago. Even though we'd lived in Oregon for a long time, we didn't realize the historical significance of Ft. Stevens. There is an actual fort there! Who knew? Apparently a lot of people...just not us.

There's actually a lot to see in this part of Oregon, including the wreck of the Peter Iredale on a nearby beach.

So we're off to do some exploring and a little more shaking down of the new RV. Only, I have to stop referring to it as the "new" RV because the old one is so outta here. The new owners picked it up yesterday. It was fun to see them so excited about their first RV. They're friends, and so we hope to do some camping with them in the not-too-distant future.

And all of that to say that I'm signing off...or maybe not...we'll both have to wait and see.

Oh yes! Be sure to check out my entry in the Blogger's Quilt Festival. And then don't forget to check out the rest of the quilts. The Blogger's Quilt Festival post is right here

Have fun! We've visited Fort Stevens and the Peter Iredale many times. Always fun along the coast.

Have a nice time at the beach. Cooler weather headed this way so I suppose you will get cooler also. Enjoy the new digs and I hope the kitties will enjoy finding their spots in the RV.

One of my favorite Oregon Beach State Parks. Wonderful bicycling trails (bells are helpful as the trails have many curves). If you ever get a chance to be there during the reinactment (usually over Labor Day) is wonderful. Have fun!

Enjoy your week away from it all!

Have a fun adventure. Sounds exciting. Congratulations on selling your prior RV. And, how sweet to have friends buy it and now be able to periodically join you on your RV adventures. Have fun. We head South on Sunday.

I wouldn't worry about calling it the 'new RV'. Growing up, at my friend Sara's house there was "the new room" - she & I became friends in the 4th grade & it was still 'the new room' when we graduated from high school!!

Hope you've had a wonderful shake-down trip!

I hope you have a great trip. We camped in this park when our kids were little which was about 30 years ago. It was so beautiful. It was the first time I'd ever seen a bright green snake though. It slithered practically right in front of my foot. We saw the shipwreck but must have missed the fort. I guess we need to go back.
