A Day of Slow

There wasn't much accomplished here at the Three Cats Ranch yesterday. As I mentioned, my first order of the day was to pay a visit to the dentist. Before leaving, I checked in at the office to learn the status of the protests. They told me the protests were only happening at night. While I've read reports of more than 100 arrests and more than $1 million in property damage, I saw no sign of it while I was downtown, save for one wall sprayed with some anti-Trump profanity. As I was driving home, I heard radio reports of high school and middle school students walking out of class and marching to a public square to meet up in a peaceful protest. It was raining cats and dogs last night, and so hopefully, that will put an end to it. There are no reports I can find of protests since the students walked out yesterday afternoon.

When I got home, I ate some lunch and laid down for a nap. I hadn't slept well the night before, and so my nap was longer than usual. By the time I woke up, it seemed too late in the day to do much of anything, but I did finish up Block #8 for Hocuspocusville. I think this is the most densely-stitched block of the whole quilt.

When I work on this again, I'll be doing the Toil & Trouble Employment Agency. Honestly, designer Meg Hawkey is so clever.

That probably won't be until the new year, however. My next block is the third block for Wine Country...the Shiraz block.

A word to the wise...that iron-on ink will transfer right through the fabric to your ironing board cover below. And then it will also transfer from ironing board cover to other fabrics you might be ironing. This morning I took some time to absorb the ink into some fabric scraps, and I'll probably wash the ironing board cover for good measure.

Today I want to finish filling in the background for the Sunflower Sampler. Here's where I left it last week.

There is some housework to do, and it's the last CSA pick-up day for the season. We'll get a double share of veggies today. There should still be time to get back to work on the latest Chicken Buffet block as well, and so there's plenty to keep me out of trouble on this Tuesday.

Oh, hope you didn't spoil anything good with the ink on the ironing board cover - that rots. You have lots of pretty hand work pieces. Last of the veggies - and we are expecting snow again.

Glad to hear the protesters weren't anywhere near where you had to travel. It sounds like things got pretty ugly in the city over the weekend. Very sad, especially since it has been reported that more than half of those arrested did not even vote.

I wouldn't say anything bad about the kids protesting, except that some seem to think protest means break and burn. That is sad, because it is every day citizens suffering. I think no politicians were harmed in the protests (Heaven forbid)
Watching you do Hocuspocusville makes me want to start it too. I think I will look it up and see what is involved.
Thanks for the warning on the transfer ink. That is good to keep in mind for all iron on transfers!
Keep up the fun work! I am really enjoying it!

Hocuspocusville is terrific, filled with so many fun things to look at!
I think I might have said this before, but I do like the simplicity of the Wine Country designs. It could be fun to color in parts of that one too. Rats about the transfer ink transferring where it was not invited!
