Two Blocks for Monday

Yesterday I took Gracie to the vet to get her drain removed. She got high marks for how good she was looking. Honestly, if it weren't for the "zipper" in her side, you'd almost not know there was anything wrong with her.

I had some housework to do in the morning, and I made a quick trip to the grocery store. That left me just enough time to do two bee blocks for our April hostess in the We Bee With It block bee. Our April hostess wanted these Tic Tac Toe blocks.

They were kind of fun to make. If you like these blocks, you can find a tutorial right here.

Today I'm going to get to work on the second block for the "It's Raining Cats and Dogs" quilt. As you can see from this photo of the block, this is a scrappy quilt.

It's all done in pastels. When I made the first block, many of the fabrics I used were turned to the wrong side, and I'll probably do that throughout the quilt. It's been so long since I made the first block (December of 2013), I've had lots of time to accumulate more scraps. I don't expect to have any problem finding the colors I need to make the whole thing.

This week is devoted to blocks. I expect this one will take up most of my time for today. What are you up to on this Tuesday?

Those Tic Tac Toe blocks are really cute - I might have to try that pattern out.
So glad to hear that Gracie got good marks on her check up! I'm amazed that you've been able to leave the cone off. When zzyzx had a staple in her shoulder (the vet didn't want to close the wound up because we didn't know how it happened, so he put one staple in the middle of it & left the rest open), she had chewed it out 30 minutes after she was home. I had to take her back to the vet the next day & she ended up with 3 - 5 stitches (can't remember now) & had to wear the cone for almost 2 weeks. Gracie, you've been a good girl! Extra treats today!

It's not raining cats and dogs here but it's finally raining. Unfortunately, a cold wind is with it. Brrr. Hi Gracie.

I love the colours you picked for those first two blocks. I was hoping to get my sewing space in order but we have guests coming tomorrow so it looks like a baking day. Nice to see Gracie bounce back so quickly.
