Some Quilting

Once I got started quilting yesterday, I had so much fun! It was good that I did all the picking out the night before; otherwise, I'd probably still be dreading doing it. I had quite an audience for my quilting pleasure. Miss Gracie:

That's her favorite chair. Gracie has many places for sleeping. They're all her favorites. We keep that towel there in her honor. Her blond fuzz is almost impossible to vacuum off. And, honestly, why would you want to?

Smitty enjoys scratching his chin on Eliza's control screen. Have you ever noticed how itchy kittys' chins are?

And just so you know, when I'm sitting in my chair and I look to the left, this is what I see.

Yes, that's the cord for the pleated shade draped across the top there to keep it out of the snapping jaws of little furry critters who like to chew through such things.

So just what did I do on the quilting, you ask? Well...there's "Meow Minor".

I left the face markings so you could see them. I'm going to put some hot fix crystals there. Also, despite Smitty's dislike for striped cats, I gave the cat some stripes.

Then I quilted a comet into the sky for this block. I have more plans for it, but that will require a change of thread. As I said yesterday, I'm only working with one thread at a time.

All of the moons have their craters now, and I've switched off to the gold metallic. I used it to give this star some extra points.

And here's the owl constellation. I have more plans for this block as well.

I have to make this a quick post because I'm meeting Sue for oatmeal and a walk this morning. I even have new waterproof walking shoes this morning. (I really hope they don't give me blisters.) Despite our terrible weather forecast, I think Sue and I might escape the rain. I'm putting on my rain gear as extra insurance.

But before I go, here's the label I created for this quilt:

It's not printed off yet. I might decide to add the subtext below the quilt name, thus:

[and you might land among the stars]

What do you think?

Okay, gotta go.

Great quilting. Those furry friends seem very pleased with your progress. As to itchy kitty chins Picasso always needs his scratched when I'm trying to get a little hand sewing done. I like your label and I must start making them for my quilts.

Your quilting is just waaaay to cute. But then you have great inspiration from your furry pals that keep you company while you quilt. Looking forward to seeing it progress.

Your quilting is great. I love the label. How did you do that? I always struggle with my labels. They are usually just hand written and then sewn on.

I love the different quilting you are doing on each block, Barbara.

The constellations are a wonderful treat in the quilting! Obviously Gracie & Smitty were very inspirational today!
Yes, I like the landing in the stars part too. Go for it!
I saw on FB that you & Sue were above the clouds for your walk - looked beautiful!! I haven't ventured out at all today, been working on a transcript.

Ah, sweet kitties! The Moon quilt is coming along wonderfully. I went out early to pick up a can of coffee, bread and milk. By the time I got to the drive (only had to travel 1/4 mile) we were into a white out squall - I even had a hard time finding my way to the house! Needless to say, the rest of the day was spent sewing away while old man winter had his way .

You are so creative to come up with such clever star constellations. Meow Minor - well naturally. I really love all the little extras you are putting on this. The name for the quilt fits well with the sub title too.

Hello Barbara,

Tell Smitty I love striped cats, and they are fun to stitch, so he can go and curl his whiskers.

Thank you for linking up with Free Motion Mavericks!

Love, Muv
