The Chatty Cats Discuss Camping and Grasshoppers

Hey Gracie, I think this might be the camping spot of our dreams. I don't hear any woofies, or trains, or trucks, or Mans, or anything!

I don't know, Smitty. Sometimes your enthusiasm takes over your good sense...pardon my oxymoron.

Better to let a truly timid cat handle these sorts of places because you never know what lurks. I'm going to sit here with Dad on the step. Sometimes stuff scares him, and he likes to have me close by to purrtect him.

Hmmmmmm...I'm not smelling any varmints, but I'd better investigate some more.

It's purrobably okay, but keep your pointer nose pointing, wouldja?

You should probably exercise your pointer nose anyway. Mine has been finely honed from years of experience sniffing out bad Mans.

Follow my lead, Smitty...do it just like me.

How's this, Gracie? Am I doing it right?

That's purretty good, Smitty. A little more strrrrretch at your neck, and I think you've got it.

That's enough for me. I'm going inside now, Smitty. You keep checking for woofies.

Gracie, what are all these hoppy bugs?

Watch out for those, Smitty...they squirt tobacco juice or something, and they taste raunchy. Those guys will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Give me a tender mousie any day of the week.

Thanks, Gracie. Good safety tip.

Thanks for blazing the trail for me, Gracie. You're my best furriend.

Oh your kittys are so cute and your commentary is so funny! I should get a harness and leash for our tortie..she has decided that she likes to go outside but I am not gonna give her free roam!

Gracie, you are a great trailblazer and teacher! Plus, good idea to keep a close eye on Dad too.

Smitty, good boy for paying attention to what Gracie told you this time!

So glad the kitties are along for the trip! I love hearing their commentary on the world. (Hmm. Would like to see my Mercury encounter a 'hoppy bug.')

What fun. Great post and photography. Sure glad the kitties are enjoying keeping the bugs away from your camping homelife. Afterall, they are "guard cats".

Gracie, you are very brave to lead the way for Smitty. You are also very wise about those hoppy bugs!

The cutest kittehs on the Innerwebs bring us up to date on their vacay. Love it when they wrassle the keyboard from Mama and tell us all the news from the purrspective of four paws.

The posts by Smitty or Gracie are always the best! It isn't all a mans world and hearing about life from their point of view is always the purrrfect way to start my day. Happy trails!

Gracie and Smitty. You are some lucky kitties to be able to vacation with your mom and dad. My mom has never taken me on a trip, but to be truthful, I don't like going to strange places and I've never worn one of those necklaces either. They would mess up my hair and I'm a bit too old to start new adventures. Love watching you from the cozy sewing room though.

very sweet post Gracie! you know, a while back I had two dogs that loved grasshoppers. Come grasshopper season, they would spend hours pouncing on them in the grass and munching them up....didn't seem to mind the taste!

Since Smitty started blogging, I thought he was the best blogger of any I have read. However, Gracie is purrty good, too. Sharon - ssauser@gmail.com

I often wondered what my cat was thinking. Obviously, I have way too much time on my hands. I think your translation is about as close as we will get. I am really enjoying the adventures of Gracie and Smitty. I can't wait for their book.

Love your writing style Gracie and I'm pleased to see you are passing on the finer points of travelling to young Mr Smitty. Hopefully with your guidance he wont get himself into any scraps this trip.
