Remains of the Day

Looking for the May NewFO Challenge Linky Party?

When I wasn't cooking for the guys' ATVing trip today, I was working on my Sunflower Mosaic. I was able to add four more vertical rows, and the first bits of the sunflower.

That makes me just about 1/3 of the way there. It could be a tedious process, I suppose, but I'm not minding it at all. For one thing, it requires a good amount of concentration, and so I find myself immersed in it while also being able to listen to an audio book. I've been listening to "The Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet" and I'm enjoying that.

Also today, I set up the birdcam. I set it up yesterday too, but I forgot to turn it on. Doh! Today I ended up with nearly 4,000 images. I've whittled them down to a couple of hundred, but I haven't had a chance to go through them except to get rid of any that did not contain birds. In my cursory overview, however, I liked these two right away.

I'll spend some more time with them this weekend, when my time will be completely my own. I'm walking with Sue tomorrow morning, but then I'm on my own until late Sunday. I can't wait.

A third of the way and a whole weekend to yourself! You will surely get this one done. Enjoy your walk with a good friend - I might just enjoy one with my furries.

The top bird cam pictures the orange bodied bird. What kind is it? I have one of those hanging around our house lately.

The quilt is looking good, I feel the same way, if it makes me concentrate I don't mind the tedious so much. Nice of the birds to eat when the sun is perfectly lighting the feeder, beautiful pictures!
Enjoy your mini vacation.

Oh, I envy your having a weekend by yourself! I love my husband and kids but when they go and leave me alone, I love it! After 2 or 3 days, tho, you'll be very happy to have them back, right?

Quilt is looking good. Books on tape are the best for doing tedious things like that. :) I would love to get a bird cam for my Dad and Step Mom - But they're not real Tech Savy so not sure. Like seeing yours.
