What's new with you? It's time again to show off your new stuff! Any new project you started during the month of May. Things have been hopping here at the Three Cats Ranch, and so I had to shuffle things around a bit. We've had three birthdays, an anniversary, and a broken sewing machine to contend with. The broken sewing machine really threw a wrench into the works. That's okay though because we got a couple of new projects started, even if we had to adjust our expectations. And there are no expectations here at the NewFO Challenge...no finishes required, no rules, no nothing. Just start something new, and you're in!
Everyone who links up with a new project will be entered to win today's prize. This month, we're playing for the Rose of Sharon lapel pin:
So here's what I started during the month of May:
The Retro Camper. This one is for hanging in our camper...appropriate, no? In May, being my birthday month, I decided to chuck all my "meat and potato" projects and just have fun with some small projects that have been on my to-do list for a long time. This was one of them.
Also, A World Apart...which was also my Let's Book It project for the month. I like it when you can kill two birds with one stone...not that I would ever kill a bird.
And this one that tried my patience mightily. I went to a hand applique class. I found this method extremely difficult, and so I'm considering how to proceed. I'll probably revert to freezer paper templates.
So...two finishes and one that isn't even close. But we're not interested in finishes here at the NewFO Challenge. We only care about what you started.
And so...what's new with you? Here are my friendly guidelines:
1. Please link-up with your newly started projects from May, finished or not. If you feel like it, show us the progress you've made on any other previously posted NewFO projects.
2. Please link back to this post from your blog. Also, please link to your blog post, not your blog. Links to entire blogs will be edited. Links provided for the sole purpose of promoting other events or shopping experiences will be deleted without apology. Please do not link to your Etsy shops or other giveaways and/or promotions you have going on your own blog. To be clear, it is okay to link to other events, but I want to see your NewFO's as a part of your post.
3. Don't have a blog? Upload an image to this FlickR group and link to that. If you have questions about how to do that or about how to link up, please email me. If you're having trouble posting your image, email it as an attachment, and I will be happy to post it for you. Please know that it takes a bit for your thumbnail to appear, so don't despair. It will appear eventually. You might need to "refresh".
4. Obviously, I need some way to contact you no matter how you link up. No email address and no other way to contact you equals no entry in the giveaway. Email me separately if you need to.
I'll leave this linky party open until one minute before midnight on Friday, June 6, 2014. Winner of the Rose of Sharon lapel pin will be announced on Saturday, June 7, 2014! We will ship anywhere in the known Universe, so everyone is welcome!
Okay, let's see what you've got cooking:

Well of course that is my pin, it's named after me. I do so love that camper stitchery and with all your struggles on the stainglass piece - I think it is awesome.
Even though you had setbacks, I have been reading your blog and May has been more productive for you than it has for me! Love the camper stitchery.
I just love how your trailer stitchery turned out. Don't feel bad about your applique...I love to do hand applique and I couldn't follow the instructions she gave you! I hope Big Bertha will be better soon.
The camper embroidery is adorable. You are far ahead of me as far as applique goes. Sorry the new process didn't work out.
That's the cutest Retro Camper! And I like your mountain scene as well.
Both NewFOs turned out great. I do like your camper stitchery, it's so fun to look at.
No NewFOs here, I'm still struggling to get caught up on all of last year's NewFOs.
Beautiful month for you, I'm still loving the camper and stained glass. I agree with Sharon, that's her pin, it's named for her :)
Love the stitchery. I had a couple finishes though and Revealed a Birthday quilt for my Sister that is in progress.
That camper is so fun! Bet you cant wait to hit the road again!
Number 21, wonder if it's significant in any way. Have a great day Barb and thanks for hosting this great party every month. Cheers.
Love that Retro Camper. Is that part of a larger BOM quilt project or a stand-alone pattern? The stained glass effect is gorgeous. I'd love to try that one day.
The camper is adorable and your World Apart wall hanging came out beautiful! Thanks again for hosting and posting!! :) I'm linked up!
I'm Linked & loving your stained glass pieces!
