Can you believe it's the last day of April already? Where has the time gone? It's been a busy month here at the Three Cats Ranch, but I still have a couple of things to show you.
First, I started my Let's Book It challenge project for April...this Mom Cats quilt. I've taken it to the point where I'll need to quilt it before I can add the little vintage hankie aprons, and so I'll have to finish this one another day.
And as my "official" NewFO project for April, I finished the top for the Happy Campers quilt. Recall that this is the work of Portland artist, Rachel Austin, who has graciously given her permission for me to make a quilt from her original art. This top ended up at 29 inches square, and its purpose is to cover an access panel in our 5th wheel trailer.
Those are my starts for the month of April. Now I'm ready to see your new stuff. My quilt tops are complete, but they still need quilting and binding. But don't let that bother you because finishes are never required in the NewFO Challenge. All you have to do to join in the party is start something new during the month of April. And this month, we're playing for this the bear's paw lapel pin:
And I'll just say that the bear's paw is one of my favorite traditional quilt blocks.
So without further ado, Here are my friendly guidelines:
1. Please link-up with your newly started projects from April, finished or not. If you feel like it, show us the progress you've made on any other previously posted NewFO projects.
2. Please link back to this post from your blog. Also, please link to your blog post, not your blog. Links to entire blogs will be edited. Links provided for the sole purpose of promoting other events or shopping experiences will be deleted without apology. Please do not link to your Etsy shops or other giveaways and/or promotions you have going on your own blog. To be clear, it is okay to link to other events, but I want to see your NewFO's as a part of your post.
3. Don't have a blog? Upload an image to this FlickR group and link to that. If you have questions about how to do that or about how to link up, please email me. If you're having trouble posting your image, email it as an attachment, and I will be happy to post it for you. Please know that it takes a bit for your thumbnail to appear, so don't despair. It will appear eventually. You might need to "refresh".
4. Obviously, I need some way to contact you no matter how you link up. No email address and no other way to contact you equals no entry in the giveaway. Email me separately if you need to.
I'll leave this linky party open until one minute before midnight on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Winner of the bear's paw lapel pin will be announced on Wednesday, May 7, 2014! We will ship anywhere in the known Universe, so everyone is welcome!

Ah, to be first for a change !~! My newest flimsy is on display today. It is a gift for my turning-ten granddaughter (in July) that I hope to hand-quilt on all that glorious real estate in the middle. Then I suspect i will tie the rest of the quilt cuz I am chicken to try machine quilting anything on my tiny Singer. But that's just me !~!
Thanks, Barb for having this party every month. It's fun to participate and also some months just to click on everyone else's links and see all that eye candy. Happy May.
I just love your trailers! I wish I had space for a wall hanging in our fifth wheel...there is just no wall space in there!
Great starts Barbara!!! I added your linky to my linky list too!! :) Have a great day!
I really like your trailers quilt. I am glad you got to use the border fabric, it is so cute. The black around the blocks is perfect.
The black frames made the camper print work. Glad you got there from your earlier ideas. (I can often see what is wrong, but don't always know what to do to make it right. You knew!)
The trailer's are wonderful, the black really worked. What does Mike think now?
Love the chance to party! Thanks for hosting....love the post about the happy cats, too. I do love the traditional blocks!
Ooooo love your Happy Camper! Where did you find your back round fabric? LOVE it too! Hope to join in on your NewFO challenge in the next couple of days. Glad to have found your blog!

Happy Camper turned out great!
My NewFO for April is a Pony Club quilt made up of all Halloween batiks, including a few that I am designing and dyeing on my own. Go big or go home. lol
I added in three NewFo's I made for charity!
Busy month, as always, for both of us. Enjoy the 80s and sunshine!
I did a totally different NewFo again this month, but played "catch-up' on my March NewFo early in the month. Maybe I'll get the May and April Projects going this month. I'm trying to keep up with all the previous NewFo's this year too. Blocks of the Month, and Blocks of the week. I like your Kitties with the spools around it.
My NewFo this month will also be my first "Book It" entry too. Found out about that from your blog and noticed that a lot of your NewFo-ers are also Book Its so I know I'm in good company!
I love your camper quilt and love what you're going to use it for! My DH and I dream of getting a Cricket trailer but I'm not sure if they'll let us park it in our co-op complex's garage. Until then we're still stuck with tents!
Great starts this month Barbara. Ilove both but the cat one is my favourite.
It will be fun to see how the cats look when they are completed. Right now, they sort of look like aprons to me! LOL
Again, love the Campers!!
Can't wait to see what everyone does and I'm so happy to have a NewFO!
Another fun month of great NewFOs. I don't have one this month. I really need to finish up some older stuff. But it's fun seeing all the new projects from everyone else.
I don't think I have mentioned yet, how much I love your camper van quilt. I think it was a really good decision to go with black inner borders.

The camper is adorable, can't wait to make it.
Two Days late but I'm linked! Love the campers - especially the black stop border.
Love the campers. I will try to do my post tomorrow. I feel that I give too much detail on some of mine. I am never sure if I should just post pictures or give the history too.
