Big Game

Good morning!  Smitty here to tell you about my new friend.  My mom says he's a Go Fur. With a name like that, I figured he could Go Fur a big game of Hide and Seek.  Look at how happy he is at the suggestion!

So, we kind of talked over the rules a little bit.

I gave him a head start while I counted to two.

One, two.

Well, this guy really tried to Go Fur broke.  He thought he could dig a hole and hide under the house.

And I said, "Dude!  That is some seriously thick concrete there."  And we were having so much fun, and he started LOLing!  (That's computer talk for "lingering over lunch.")

Actually, I was the one LOLing.  I could Go Fur some lunch right about now.

So I said, "Dude.  Those are some seriously big teeth you have.  Would you mind pulling in your fangs?  We're just playing here."

I don't think he's going to Go Fur the LOL part of the game.  This might call for a different game.  Maybe something on the order of Keep Away.  "So here are the rules of the game, Dude.  You play Keep Away, and I'll play Jumpsies."  Think he'll Go Fur that?

Holy moly, Smitty! You're not supposed to talk to the Go Fur. You're supposed to kill it and eat it (partially) and then drag it into the house. Someone just didn't tell you all the rules.

Be careful, Smitty...he could Go Fur you! Seriously, tell Mom she did great with the teeth pix and detailing your adventure. I needed the giggle!

Smitty, something tells me your new friend is not as smitten as you are :*) Just because he's showing you all his teeth, that doesn't mean he's smiling at you!

Smitty, thanks for the pictures of your new friend, you made me smile

Good Gravy! How did you get those photos? I can't believe how close the gopher and Smitty were. I figured the gopher would run for his life and that Smitty would be hot on his heels. Those are hilarious.

Have they been getting bombed out together on the cat nip? T'ain't natural. Smitty needs combat training. Just don't show us the pics when he brings the remains of minced gopher into the house.

PS. Fab pictures. Very glad we don't get those nasty looking little animals here.

OMG, I've never seen something like that! It's sooo cute! Glad Smitty did not kill it!!

I showed Rudy the pictures and now he doesn't feel so badly about his relationship with the squirrel. He's surprised that Smitty let you show everyone this loss of dignity with go-fur. Go-fur just isn't showing the proper amount of respect! Kitties rule! (Or is that indoors??)

Amazing pictures ...so glad that you captured them and shared. BTW, tell Smitty that when we lived in NY, we had some chipmunks that ate their way through concrete and their choppers looked nothing like go-furs.

Ha ha ha! I love how he just doesnt seem to know what to do. So cute! He reminds me of my late Opus who stayed in my parents open potting shed when we were living with them. I went out one afternoon and found 3 dead shrews lined up on the dirt floor. Opus looked at me unsure if he did a good thing or bad. He was an indoor kitty and had never killed anything bigger than a bug before.

Man oh man that Go Fur has big bitey teeth. Sheesh! I'm glad you got him cornered Smitty - even though I don't think he's having as much fun playing as you did.

Oh my! That's a Go Fur? Wow, seriously big teeth. In the cartoons they always seem...friendlier. We don't have them here and I'm thinking that's a good thing. What did Gracie say about it all? I'm guessing she was far to busy being gorgeous. Perhaps be a bit careful when you play Jumpsies, Smitty.

YOU are a fabulous photographer!!! Smitty, that Go-Fur isn't much fun to play with, he will bite you good. Please take good care and keep Mom posted on that Go-Fur's antics. Go-furs tend to hide and surprise you so watch out. Those teeth are huge. Enjoy your romps in the great outdoors but play safe.

Glad they don't live in Georgia! I want to know the end of the Go Fur story.

Awww isn't it gorgeous, I never realised gophers were so tiny, I expected them to be about the same size at Smitty! Actually the more I look at the pictures the more it looks like a rat with funny teeth, maybe it is not so cute after all...

Holy carp! For such a small animal that Go Fur sure has some big chompers.

Smitty! That is one scary fanged friend!

Great pictures! I thought they were smaller than that, more like a Chip the Monk.

The GoFurs in Minn. don't look like that. Yikes. Watch yourself, Smitty. I know you're up to the challenge but maybe this time just a stare-down will be sufficient.

Hi Smitty, Picasso here,I'm not sure about your new play mate as those teeth are huge. I'm pleased we don't have Go Furs in London, just mouses. Great Photos though.

Great pictures! I am surprised he didn't do a little more than just look at it.

One day I went upstairs to make on of the girls beds. There was something on the bed, wasn't sure what it was - it was a thrown up mouse! Ick. I took a paper towel and it was grey fur. No blood though so it could have been worse.

Since having cats my whole life, I would say that was probably the most memorable cat puke thing.

Thanks again!

Wow, Barbara, you really got some great shots of this little tete a tete between Smitty and the Go-Fur (ha, ha!).

Smitty is right, they need to establish a mutual neutral zone and stay on either side of it. Wouldn't want to get chomped by those teeth!

Smitty, you better watch your back because that looks like a baby Go Fur, and I'm sure his momma is twice your size.

One of my all time favorite posts! Is that what I think it is? - Looks like Smitty actually scared the sompin outta Mr GoFur there in pic3?

A couple of years ago I was gifted with a gopher. Not as cute as that one seemed though. Last week I was gifted witha snake, about 2 feet long, left right on my front porch. Rocky the raccoon is back out there after a year almost of being gone, eating the catfood at 10am. Still big but a little thinner. Awww critters!

We have chipmunks (and squirrels and rabbits) that my dogs keep trying to 'check out'. They all keep playing 'chase' but, my dogs keep losing (thank goodness).

Me thinks he is not a long term friend. You'd better just walk away Smitty. You don't want him getting any of your nip.

Oh, Smitty, you are toooooo funny! And your mum's pretty handy with the camera too!
