Okay, so I made a little more progress on the Gardener's Journal quilt sections.  I completed the second section.

These sections are turning out to be a little tricky.  They aren't difficult, but I'm needing to pay careful attention to each step to be sure I have the cutting right.  Also, this one included an applique that I wasn't expecting in those two hearts.  And, it wanted me using the border fabric for some of the piecing.  You can see it on the right.  It's the blue floral fabric.  I've been using a magnifying glass and studying the image on the pattern at times to make sure I'm understanding the instructions.

Then I moved onto the third section, but very quickly found myself stuck.  This piece used more of the border fabric.

But then I realized I totally left out one of the embroidery pieces for this section:  the flower wreath.  Oy.  I looked again at the pattern, and there it was sure as could be.  Just put a check mark in the "Duh" column for me, okay?

With the instructions being so complicated, I didn't want to skip over a step, and so I stopped there for the day to make up this little embroidery piece.  It's tiny.  I can probably stitch it out in a half an hour, but that will have to wait until tomorrow morning....or maybe this evening.  In any case, I'm feeling confident, I can finish up this third section by tomorrow.

So when I came upstairs to write this blog post, look who I found stretched out in the sunspot on the carpet. Oh, and Yawwwwwwwwwwn.

I think the warm temperatures might have done him in.

That's it from the Three Cats Ranch for today.  It was a productive day, despite my missing embroidery piece.  I hope you had a good day too.

Looks like this one is keeping you on your toes :*) It's really looking great though and will definitely be worth it! If Smitty were not such a lazy bones, he could have stitched up that little wreath for you =^..^= "Train up a cat in the way he should go....." LOL!!!

Gotta love directions that keep you on your toes! Great cat-ture (capture) of Smitty's yawn, makes me yawn just looking at him.

That little wreath should not take long! You are wise to stop and complete it rather than confusing yourself with strange directions!

Great progress on the quilt. It would be easy to miss such a small embroidery in that quilt with such complicated borders.

I think that pattern might be far to complicated for me. I have a hard time slowing down for instructions :)

Cheers on progress. I love the hand push lawn mower--brings back memories and reminds me why I live in an apartment.

That sure does look like a lot of piecing that you have to get just right. Whew! But it's looking good. :D

There is a Friskies commercial running that makes me think of Smitty every time - the cat's food bowl is empty & he looks all over & finds one lone piece under a piece of furniture. :)
