It's All About Me!

Hey!  Good morning, and thanks for coming!  It's my day to tell you all about me!  Thanks to Madam Samm and Marlene at StitchinByTheLake for pulling this whole event together.  (Click on Marlene's link to see the whole schedule of hop participants.)  Special thanks to Amy Bradley for creating this great pattern for the hop.  And I'm in great company.  Here's the schedule for today:

Wanna see what I did?  I made this little wall hanging, which is now taking up residence on the wall beside my sewing machine.

It's like looking in a mirror where I always look fabulous!!!

And anyone who knows anything about me knows that my two best friends are cats!  I couldn't leave them out.  So my piece is all about Smitty and Gracie too.

I used seed beads for the heads of the pins,

and hot fix nailheads for the kitties' eyes.

And since all the fabric in my sewing room has been walked on by kitties, I quilted it with paw prints.  Did you know kitties' feet are heart-shaped?

Here's my backside, which I think is looking particularly marvelous since I started my Curves diet.

And I'm so darned happy that you stopped by that I'm having a little giveaway just to show my appreciation. Wouldn't you like to win this?

It's a six fat-quarter bundle of Parson Gray for Free Spirit Fabrics.  And it's simple to win.  Here's what you need to do:

1.  Don't be a no-reply blogger.  If I can't contact you, you can't win.

2.  This giveaway is all about you!  Leave me a comment and tell me something about yourself.  Followers (new or salty) can leave a second comment for a second chance to win.

3.  This giveaway is open to all residents of the Milky Way Galaxy, so if you're an international visitor, comment away!

4.  Don't forget to visit the rest of the participants in the It's All About Me Blog Hop.

I'll choose a winner on March 1st and announce it right here on my blog.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop!

Great wall hanging! Here's something about me: I also have a rambunctious tabby cat and a calico full of attitude. Your pictures of Smitty and Gracie always remind me of them. Their names are Wilson and Calley.

I just love that you included your two sole mates - soles, cat paws, furrie footies - yeah, ok. And they could be used for my two helpmates. Moe's holding down my Little Black Dress scraps as we speak - I don't know what the attraction to that fabric is! I need to finish this piece Moe!

Love those cats! And you did such a great job on the quilting! We have two cats and I would love to have them in the house, but my husband just won't allow it. I love all the details... thanks for sharing. Something about me... last year at about this time I found a Northern Saw-Whet Owl in our backyard. Unfortunately it was not alive and there was no clue how it died. I wanted to keep this sweet and beautiful creature. Although the bird is the size of my hand, I learned that it was full grown! When I first picked it up and turned it over, the owl had one eye closed. So he is named Wink and sits on my side table in the family room.

Ok, first a terrific job! Being a cat person myself, I adore the cats. A friend told me that cat hair adds character to a quilt. Then the quilt I'm putting the binding on right now, certainly has a lot of character. I adore the hot fix eyes. I got a hot fix iron at a quilt show in January and have not used it yet. The quilting is wonderful. I had never thought about kitty paws being heart shaped. Congrats on starting Curves. Thanks for blogging and inspiring us.

What adorable kitty cats you've sewn! I love your cheery wall-hanging. Something about myself? - I have dimples in my cheeks :-)

I am enjoying this blog hop. Love the little details everyone is putting on their quilts...like the little seed beads on your pin cushion and the eyes on your cats!

I also have two kitties in my life and, like yours, one of mine is a calico named Grace, full name Grace Hopper. The other, Johnny Be Good, looks like a full grown version of Smitty.

I'm also a follower of your blog. I love your take on the "biased" pattern.

Well my goodness she's adorable! And your cat buddies are too - the cat paws quilting is so perfect for this piece. Barbara I love her! Here's one thing about me - I was retired for 9 years and this year went back to work to help out a local school district. Lesson learned. Do not help anyone again. :) blessings, marlene

Your wall hanging is so fun! I love your smiling cats. I took today off work because 1) I fell yesterday while snowshoeing and this morning my body was achy all over 2) I had a little depression plunge after a staff meeting with my boss and my one co-worker yesterday 3) there was a meeting I didn't want to attend this afternoon. Full true confession time.

My friends always say that if Quebec separates from Canada it will be my fault. I was born in West Germany-doesn't exist anymore, lived in the USSR-doesn't exist anymore and in Czechoslovakia-doesn't exist anymore :) Only one that stayed in one piece is Barbados!

My salty second is to let you know that I just *adore* your little wall hanging :)

I love your kitties! They make me smile and remind me of my kitty that died last summer. I miss him. Thanks for sharing your creativity and for a wonderful give-away.

I am a new follower and look forward to more inspiration from you!

Adorable wall hanging!! I'm having a lot of fun with foundation paper piecing - no exact cutting but you exact points every time.
