It's All About Me!

Hey!  Good morning, and thanks for coming!  It's my day to tell you all about me!  Thanks to Madam Samm and Marlene at StitchinByTheLake for pulling this whole event together.  (Click on Marlene's link to see the whole schedule of hop participants.)  Special thanks to Amy Bradley for creating this great pattern for the hop.  And I'm in great company.  Here's the schedule for today:

Wanna see what I did?  I made this little wall hanging, which is now taking up residence on the wall beside my sewing machine.

It's like looking in a mirror where I always look fabulous!!!

And anyone who knows anything about me knows that my two best friends are cats!  I couldn't leave them out.  So my piece is all about Smitty and Gracie too.

I used seed beads for the heads of the pins,

and hot fix nailheads for the kitties' eyes.

And since all the fabric in my sewing room has been walked on by kitties, I quilted it with paw prints.  Did you know kitties' feet are heart-shaped?

Here's my backside, which I think is looking particularly marvelous since I started my Curves diet.

And I'm so darned happy that you stopped by that I'm having a little giveaway just to show my appreciation. Wouldn't you like to win this?

It's a six fat-quarter bundle of Parson Gray for Free Spirit Fabrics.  And it's simple to win.  Here's what you need to do:

1.  Don't be a no-reply blogger.  If I can't contact you, you can't win.

2.  This giveaway is all about you!  Leave me a comment and tell me something about yourself.  Followers (new or salty) can leave a second comment for a second chance to win.

3.  This giveaway is open to all residents of the Milky Way Galaxy, so if you're an international visitor, comment away!

4.  Don't forget to visit the rest of the participants in the It's All About Me Blog Hop.

I'll choose a winner on March 1st and announce it right here on my blog.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop!

Decided before I could attempt anymore quilting I have to totally rearrange my fabric and stuff on my shelves. SO I can see what I actually have "sew"that I can see it, & find it to sew with it. I have 2 orange striped tabby cats Caramel & Butturscotch and a minutere black, white & tan dappled dachshund Daisy. Oh yea hav ea husband and 2 children also.

Ohhh my too cute, love that you added your kittys. Of course it wouldn't work for me because my besties are three little doggies (2 yorkies and 1 shih tzu). But still loved what you did.

Love your ladyself! and your backside is particularly attractive these days (but doesn't quite beat the kitties just yet!) Those little paw prints are adorable!

Something about me? I umm...I have too much thread? It no longer fits in our camper, unless I remove all clothes (NOT something you'd want to see) and food. Hmmm..maybe there's a plan...

Oh yeah, we head to Mexico Sunday.

And I'm about as salty as they get!

Ha ha ha, Barbara, you crack me up! Those cats look as though they've been into the cat nip, though, so watch out! lol. Too cute, I love it!

Something about me...hmmm...I'm a stay-at-home mom who is addicted to sewing and fabric...I'm not at the therapy stage yet ('yet'!)

Thanks for the chance to win!

That is so cute that you added your kitties. I know a few people who would have added them too.

"Something about me" is also always something about my beloved cats! Our dear Dutch, a beautiful all-white long furred gentleman, is well over 14 - probably more like 15 or 16 years old, and so well-loved that his daddy cooks him tillapia every night!

Your wall hanging turned out great! I am a cat lover but can't have any because my husband is allergic. My daughter's cats lived with us for awhile and he seemed to like having them here but when they left he felt so much better and decided we couldn't get one for ourselves. I always call my daughters cats my cats anyway since I take care of them when she is out of town.

Since the 'backside' is checkered, does that mean that you've led a 'checkered' life? Maybe I'll have to ask Gracie and Smitty. Gracie's known you longer. And 'salty' might be a good term for me (at least tonight). Cute quilt. Hmmm.... something about me, well, I spend WAY too much time on the computer, and not enough time on my projects, but, I did get 2 little quilts basted today.

Shhh, don't tell your cute kitties, but I'm a dog person! But cats tend to come to me! It's not that I don't like them, they just tend to make me sneeze a little! It seems because I ignore them, even the shyest kitty will jump on my lap! I think your quilt is just darling. And I especially love the cats! And the quilted paw prints! Too cute!

Cath said...

wow Barbara....276 comments. I think that shows how much people loved your little quilt!! I especially loved that you included Smitty and Gracie and I noticed the paw print quilting straight away.

I too am a cat lover..only owned one dog my whole life, but have loved at least 1/2 dozen cats (mom/husband wouldn't let me have more than one at a time). I love to sew and quilt. I am so impressed with your original embroidery...excellent job. Such an inspiration!

Oh my I just love your self portrait. Of course it had to include your fur babies. It made me chuckle the instant I saw it. So now I'm salty? Funny. Something about myself? Hmmm. Well we currently have no fur babies though I do miss that. My 2 kidlets do enough damage messing up the house right now.

hi, I am a newer quilter, by 2 1/2 yrs, have many grandchildren & great Grand Children. My Cat's Name is Honey bun and I just adore her. she loves to sit in the window while I quilt. I am not sure if I am a noreply blogger so I will email you. I do need the instructions on how to change that.

I love your hanging--such vibrant colours and a happy picture. I'm supposed to tell you something about myself. I live on a farm in Quebec, Canada and have a 16 year old barn cat called Micky Mouse. He's my warrior cat and has survived a lot! I also love to quilt and sew, but live nowhere near any fabric stores or quilting guilds, so all my shopping and dreaming is done on line.

I really love your wall hanging and how you hung it is very nice. I am a quilter that loves to make small quilts. Thanks again.

Your wall hanging is just perfect for your sewing room! Judging from the eyes on the cats, I think they've been into the catnip!
