It's a rather frightening creature, isn't it? Just another one of those images designed to give children nightmares. But that's not what you came for, is it? Please pardon my tangential brain.
Also, I started the first of the Quilting Snowladies embroidered quilt blocks. There are twelve blocks in the series, so I have quite a ways to go on this.
While I was waiting for the tea-dyed muslin for this project to arrive, I found myself between embroidery projects, and so I started a quick little project. It isn't finished yet. I still need to add a border to it and then turn it into a little quilt. It's from a free pattern by Wendy who blogs at Sugarland Quilts.
Finally, I participated in the "It's All About Me" blog hop. I both started and finished my piece for the hop.
The hop ends today. If you've missed any of it (or all of it), you can find the full schedule of participants right here. Honestly, folks have been so clever and creative with their pieces. You'd never know we all started with the same pattern. Such fun.
But this party is all about YOU! So now I'm ready to see what YOU started during the month of February. I had quite a few starts for the month, but you only need one start and zero finishes to link up below. Everyone who links up is eligible to win this month's needle nanny. Here's the little cutie I'm giving away this month:
And if you don't know what a needle nanny is, it's a strong magnet that you can fasten to your stitcheries, or your clothing, or whatever! I stick my needle to it whenever I finish my embroidery for the morning. They are handmade from copper, brass and nickel in a small village in Thailand, where proceeds from their sale contribute to the health, education, and welfare of the community.
Here's what you need to do to be entered in the giveaway:
1. Please link-up with your newly started projects from February, finished or not. If you feel like it, show us the progress you've made on any other previously posted NewFO projects.
2. Please link back to this post from your blog. Also, please link to your blog post, not your blog. To do that, just click on the title of your post to isolate it from the rest of your blog. Then copy the URL and use that to link up. Links to blogs will be edited or deleted entirely. Also, this is not a place to advertise your Etsy shop or some other event. To be clear, you may include references to other items in your post, but there should be something related to your NewFO's as well. Inappropriate and/or unrelated links will be deleted.
3. Finally, don't have a blog? Upload an image to my FlickR group and link to that. If you have questions about how to do that or about how to link up, please email me. If you're having trouble posting your image, email it to me as an attachment, and I'll be happy to do it for you.
4. Obviously, I need some way to contact you no matter how you link up. No email address and no other way to contact you equals no entry in the giveaway. Email me separately if you need to.
This giveaway ends one week from today. Winner of the needle nanny will be announced on March 7, 2013! I will ship interplanetarily, and so this giveaway is open to all residents of planets orbiting the Sun. Overnight delivery to the planet Uranus will include a minor surcharge.
Now, show us your new stuff!

I love the poem Jabberwocky, so mush fun Those heart blocks are fabulous, much more fun than a one colour heart and I love your'mini me'.
I intended to do more heart blocks, but the month got away from me. Love the one you've shown here.
Love the heart block and your "All about Me" mini. Such fun projects.
OHH! I understand better now. I thought we had to finish a project. Goodness knows I could start.. Umm LOTS! Let me go find my February work.. okay. I think I linkied. I finished actually! I made placemats for Valentines day and a Table topper.
Love your Heart of the Home block - can't wait to see the whole runner (no pressure - I'm very patient!) And I do love your It's All About Me piece. The cats are wonderful! ~Jeanne
Such great projects Barbara! February flew by...
I love the projects that you share with us today. The block you have done for the table runner is beautiful. Actually all you've done is beautiful, it's hard to choose, because each project has its charm.
This is the first time I participate in this challenge and I'm excited, I added the table topper this is the project
that I started and finished in February. Now is here together with other beautiful creations. I blogged about the challenge here:

Glad you got those words out of your system! Nice segue. Your all about me - mini me is cute especially with your feline friends nearby too.
This is my second month of participating with this New FO idea and it is superb! It has liberated me to start some new projects, I actually started 2 new ones in February and now both of those are done! Thank you for this challenge and the much needed push. Jane
Ah, the 'biased' hop was a hoot!! Love those heart blocks and will be a great runner. We went from a 12" snowfall to the high 40's - so it is a mushy mess outside!
My post will go up tomorrow, It's my post day for It's all About Me. Let's see...I think I've started and or finished 10 things. Been busy !
I so enjoyed your post from the beginning to the end. I think there was a Jabberwocky in my dreams last night.....yikes.
I just loved your "All about me" project. Those kitties sure are adorable.
I'm all linked up today. Thanks for hosting this New FO group. I love seeing what everyone is starting.
When my son was in high school one English assignments to recite a poem. He came to me for ideas and I said, "twas brillig, and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe". And he said, WHAT? And that was his intro to the Jabberwork....the jaws that bite, the claws that catch! What a great poem. His classmates were enthralled, his teacher impressed, and he got an 'A'.
Great inspiration here - thank you for the linky :) amycav at hotmail dot com
Lovely projects you show us!
I enjoy to be a part of the NewFO challenge, so thanks for hosting it!
I love the Jabberwocky! And I will try and post when I get home tonight... late night
I'll try to post soon...."come to me my beemish boy" I bet you say that to Smitty, right? Especially after he has been "whiffling through the tulgey wood"....Heehee! Always loved the Jabberwocky poem, and had most of it memorized at one point. Does that say something about all of us that like it that much? LOL
Can't believe another month has gone by! I started Lazy Sunday this month :)
I have no way to enter you give away I just wanted to say the needle nanny is so pretty is there a way to order one identical actually? Also love your stitchery and heart block Thank-you Becky
I have the fabrics and picked a pattern (finally!) for my DGD's 2nd quilt for her new bed. She'll be 3. The pattern is a recipe from Moda Bake Shop. I start cutting tomorrow when I'm free all day. Hope that counts.
Oh, how I enjoy reading your posts; they are always good for a smile or laugh! That's a compliment, btw; I'm not insulting your works. :) I linked up to your Flickr group!
I'll be back tomorrow to add a linky-dink! We used to joke about the 'Jabberwocky' in our home...until James figured out what it looked like. Then the joking ceased! (Until he was old enough--in his twenties--to not be as bothered by it!) You had some GREAT starts this month! :)
I have a new goal, start more new projects
And here I thought I was the only person who knew what the Jabberwock was, shows how wrong you can be! Thanks for the quote, it made my day. Lovely projects, I really love your take on the "Biased", the cats are gorgeous. Thanks for hosting!
Just jumped with my NewFOs for February! I'll be visiting those who posted tomorrow after my school work is done. :-)
Oops!!! I just linked to my January starts by mistake. Darn, Darn, Darn! [read other expletives here]. Anyway, I just edited that entry and gave the link to the February NewFO update at the top of the post. Sorry for the mistake. :( Hopefully visitors will still find it. Just too darned much going on!
WhhoooooooHhhhoooooooo I made it ....:)....even though I almost forgot that it was time.
Thank you for the link to the bridge pattern. So cute! I love the way your snowman is coming along, too.
I'm loving the Lovely Year of Finishes. It's embarrassing how long some of my quilts have waited to be bound. I linked up my February Finish of our Hen Quilt, and have remembered how fond I was of it when it was a new project. :)
I've just linked up for February but for some reason my picture did not show up! I really don't look like that!
I am destined to only kit up pillowslips for my Newfo's but they at least use up the scraps from a project!
Love seeing what everyone else is sewing,
Helen
Oh dear! NOW my picture IS there!! yes, that's what I look like!
I'm so glad I finally have something to link to your New FOs. I really like your Snow Lady. One day I have an ambitious project for a cross stitch quilt.
I'm so glad your having this challenge so enjoying all the creations. What will March creations be? I like the snow lady and the bridge of friendship. Thanks for sharing.
I didn't do much on the NewFO I listed for February but I did get a couple other NewFO's stated this past month. The picture didn't post right for my thumbnail either. I must have hit the wrong button.
OOPS now there are two for me, you can delete one of them, ok?
It's so exciting to find a place to celebrate starts!
Sorry I seem to have linked up twice.
blessings,
pam
Wow! Look at how many links this month!! That's cool. I barely managed to dress myself in February, so no linky for me. But I will have one for March - I'll be cutting some pinks & greens tomorrow.
I love that Heart block! I made a wallhanging once upon a time with one like that.
I'm getting in a little late, but I linked up! :)
Wow, I'm late getting here but you are enabling lots of people. You should be so proud :)
Love the heart. Maybe this will be on Januarys list for next year. XX Kathleen

February is just too short...hope March will have me accomplished more!! Thanks for having this fun party...it helps to motivates me:)
Well I actually got mine started and finisded in a day, found the giraffe pattern fabric and remembered my Mum loves Giraffes and I'm off to visit her in a fortnight so I made her this little gift. I may make a mug warmer to go with it too?
Hey, Barbara. Love the Friendship Bridge - I am definitely checking that out. And I do like the Snow Ladies. I have to ask - are they early, or are they late? I have been thinking I should be starting my Christmas Stuff now if I have any hope of finishing in time.
Thanks for hosting again.
