This 24-page ebook features three different styles of the log cabin block, including traditional, courthouse steps, and chevron configurations. The log cabin block is among my favorite of the traditional blocks, due in part to its versatility. Depending on the layout of your blocks, so many interesting designs come into view. The book includes several handy illustrations of the many possibilities. Here are just a few:
It also includes many beautiful color photographs of quilts from collectors with a brief history of the quilt and the block. I really liked this unique zigzag configuration:
And look at this beautiful woven version! The book includes instructions for making this quilt. (I think I've found one of next year's NewFO projects!)
I have to say I was very impressed with the quality and breadth of this publication. I'm printing it out for future use as I write this post. This is a free download, so click on the link to get your own copy. Tell them Gracie sent you.

I love the woven quilt. I down loaded the book and my hubby wants (me) to make it! He helps me select, cut and sort fabric, and he enjoys it!
