Mr. Bear Comes Home

Several weeks ago, I was notified that I'd won a discount on quilting by Marcia at Marcia's Crafty Sewing & Quilting.  I had admired Marcia's beautiful quilting many times on her blog, and winning this great prize was just what I needed to get me off the fence about shipping a quilt off to her for quilting.  Since my Day in the Life of Mr. Bear quilt had been one of my many PIGS (projects in grocery sacks) for a while, I decided it was next in my PIGS reduction quest.

Mr. Bear went on his journey to Wisconsin back in early September, and returned home yesterday.  I couldn't be happier with the quilting Marcia did on this.  It is superb.  Here's the whole quilt front and back.

But look at the incredible detail in Marcia's quilting.  This is exactly what I wanted.

I especially love the detailing in the blanket on this next block.  It looks soft enough to cuddle up in.

She quilted little swirls into the pinwheels.

The remainder of the quilt is done in a meander with random little daisies thrown in here and there.

And because she matched the threads to the white and the red on the pinwheels, the back has little accents of red where each of the pinwheels are.

Also included were three of her glossy notecards like this one shown below.  So pretty, and they will be put to good use.

Thank you, Marcia, for your superb work on my quilt.  I will definitely be sending more quilts your way in the future.  I can highly recommend Marcia to any of you with quilts that need a good session with a long-arm quilter.

But that's not all the mail person brought to me yesterday.  Just look at this little quilt I received from my doll quilt partner in the September doll quilt swap.

 Doll Quilters

Is this precious, or what?  That long cat body makes me think of Smitty's long skinny body.

And look at this precious face!

So sweet, Mary Pat.  I just love it.  Thank you so much for your creativity and effort on this little quilt.  It will take a proud space on my wall of doll quilts.
