MQX West 2012: Fourth Batch

To catch up on the posts you've missed, you can check out my post from yesterday.  This is the fourth batch of quilt images taken at the MQX West quilt show in Portland, Oregon, last week.  This first one was one of the more unique entries in the show.  The silvery fabric gave it the appearance of a metallic rubbing.

Some of the quilts were as interesting and beautiful from the back as they were from the front.  This next one, for instance.  Front:

Such a pretty border.  Front:

Here's yet another mermaid quilt.  I like the interpretation of how a mermaid would look on this one, and its beautiful use of embellishments and metallic threads.

This one was very pretty.  I like the butterflies in the corners.

I loved this next one for its unique subject matter, and the story behind it.

There is so much to look at in this one, and so I've given you lots of detailed shots.  Beautiful use of embellishments in this quilt, and the quilting is just spectacular.

There are still more to come...at least one more batch, and maybe two.  Keep watching.

These quilts are so amazing and the quilting really makes it more amazing, would love to do something like that.

All quite beautiful! Those horses. That same gal had two quilts at Road To California last January. A mermaid/man under the sea one (Sea Mates?)and a Halloween one. They were both amazing. The longer you look, the more details you see. JUST incredible! I actually got to meet her and she was delightful.

Incredible!
The first one really does look like hammered silver. I have some Inktense pencils too, but have only used them on paper so far.

I was drawn to the pieced background in the mermaid quilt, love those blues.

And those carosel horses...just gorgeous - and I think I would have picked either Willow or Lucifer to ride. ;^)

The icon is amazing. I can't even begin to tell you how impressed I am with that. Beautiful.

My goodness - those horses seem more like a painting than a quilt - wonderful! And I agree with you that the mermaid is amazing. I've never seen one that looked quite like her :*) Thanks again for sharing! And for the bonus pics of Smitty & Gracie of course =^..^=
