Lots of Cats

This morning I had just a little bit of stitching left to do on my latest Love Me, Love My Cat quilt block.  This one went much faster than I thought it would.  Not being able to get near your sewing machine for a week will do that to you.

Now I'm ready to get started on the next block for the Vintage Miniature Sewing Machines BOM.  I made this up nearly five weeks ago, and then didn't work on it at all while we were traveling.

But this post promised lots of cats, so here's one for you.  This is what happens to a kitten when it plays outside almost all day long.

Little Smitty absolutely loves being outside, but he is much too bold for my level of nervousness.  His wings are clipped for a few days until he can find his fear of the great outdoors again.  Honestly, he loves being outside so much that I can't find it in myself to force him to be an indoor cat.  (Gracie, on the other hand, is just the opposite.)  His strengths are his speed, agility, and intelligence, but I'm not sure he could out run a predator.  His greatest weakness is his lack of fear.  George and Gracie were strays before they came to us, and so they always had a healthy dose.  It is inevitable that Smitty will meet a predator one of these days, and so we can only hope he'll survive his first encounter.  If he can, we feel confident that the fear will follow.  We love this little guy, and so we'd really hate to lose him.

On a lighter note, I simply must share this video with you.  I laughed until I cried watching it.  My thanks to Sue over at Zzyzx & Sue for sharing this hilarious video on Facebook.  It offers convincing scientific proof that cats are better than dogs.  But then, you knew that already, didn't you?

Enough said.

Love the new kitty piece, so fun. I do enjoy stitching, something fun to do in a chair, while I rest and watch tv, lol. The video was funny, needed a good laugh.

Your embroidery work is always so perfect. Smitty looks totally oblivious to the outside world in that picture of him sleeping - too cute. Thanks for sharing the funny video.

And more great embroidery on your Cat block too.

Oh I love your blog and cats and embroidery. How sweet. I love my rescue cats also. One used to go in and out until he was injured in an accident. Now he stays in with the other one. He (Mr. Whiskers) wants to go out but I'm a baby and keep him inside with Little Bella. Love my kitties.
I love your "life is sweet" panel and wondered if you would tell me where I can find the pattern. I've been wanting to try embroidering after 100 years of not doing it. I love all the cat ones , but this is my favorite.
Thanks for your time and sharing.

Take care and have a great day.
