The prompt for this week's 52 Photos Project is "On the Table". Here's my entry:
This image was taken as we waited for our food to arrive on our first evening in Bonaire of The Netherlands Antilles a few years go. We had come in February, from cold and rainy Oregon, to go scuba diving in the Caribbean. It is a long flight from Portland to Bonaire...an overnight flight, and we were very happy to be there that first evening. Our table was on a balcony that extended out over the water, and it was a very romantic evening. I had just a point and shoot camera along, and I wanted to shoot without flash. Of course, I had no tripod, and so I balanced the camera on a knife to get it at the right angle. Then, I used the camera's self-timer to avoid movement when the shutter released.

That's a very nice photo. I love the overall colors with the light on the salt/pepper shakers.
Another nice capture -- Barbara, you've got a great eye for this! :)
great story, great capture!
Point-and-shoot camera? No tripod? Whatever—this is a great shot!

As they say, necessity is the Mother of Invention -- well done!
Balanced on a knife! Wow, musta been a heck o' one... :D
I really like the way the candlelight plays on the glass salt & pepper shakers too.
