Rare Moment

This is something you don't see often:

Gracie and Smitty in the same frame.  You might think nothing is happening here.  Actually, there's quite a bit going on.  Gracie was on the bed, and Smitty jumped up too.  He ignored her completely and went about cleaning his paws.  Shortly after I took this picture, Gracie walked over and boxed his ears just for good measure.  Then she returned to her throne and took her place.  He doesn't mind.  He thinks that's the way its supposed to be.  He likes her anyway.

They remind me of the cartoon dogs named Spike and Chester.  Tell me you're old enough to remember Spike and Chester.  Here's a video to jog your memory:

Yep.  Gracie and Smitty to a T.

Now I'm off to the grocery store for kitty treats.  Gotta have plenty of kitty treats at the Three Cats Ranch...even if there are only two cats.

Aren't they funny, I go through the same thing. Today they were laying on opposite sides of the doorway and just stared at each other, Izzy hates when Moki stares at her and he knows it, lol.

Oh how funny! She's looks like she's giving him a good scolding with her body language and isn't really happy that he's ignoring her... I'm not surprised she decided to go ahead a box his ears :*) The fact that she even sits there on the same quilt says she has begun to accept him as a member of her family. Way to go Gracie!

Oooh, I'd forgotten Spike and Chester. Thanks for the fun reminder. Well at least she's just boxing him in the ears and has quit the hissing.

My Grace and Johnny Be Good are litter mates, have always been together and can still get territorial about their favorite spots. Though there's only hissing involved when Johnny has Grace in a kitty headlock and she's had enough if his "affection."

I remember. Thanks for the memories. They just don't make good cartoons like this anymore. Does anyone remember when they showed cartoons before the movie in the theaters?

I do remember but I couldn't have told you their names. That's a beautiful picture, the quilt is gorgeous.

I'm impressed that Smitty was brave enough to have his back to her in such a vulnerable position. Her expression is priceless. She looks like she's already thinking about what she will do to him.

I'm so glad other people have cats that get along (or not) like this. It seemed like I was the only one with this problem for a while. I mean, my goodness, my girlfriend has 7 cats, adding one to the mix has never been a problem. According to her, there's never a fight but I've seen some disagreements. It's not as perfect as she'd like everyone to believe but she'd definitely like me to think that it's my cats being strange.

I can totally see Gracie getting ready to box Smitty's ears! She just has that look in her eyes. I'm glad that he's smart enough to just take it. Maybe she'll get tired of being grumpy eventually....
