July NewFO Linky Party and Giveaway

Is it my imagination or did the month of July fly by in a flash?  Given that it started out with a bang on Independence Day, I don't suppose the flash should surprise me.  In any case, it's time to link up with your July NewFO projects.  Remember . . . no finishes are required.  In fact, there are no requirements of any kind except that it needs to be a new project started during the month of July.  Even small projects like mug rugs and potholders qualify.  So be bold!  Link up!  Here's what I started in July:

The Doors of Ireland quilt:

And the White Birches quilt from the pattern featured in the October, 2010, issue of Quilter's World.  I was able to do all the cutting,

and then I made the first two of twelve blocks.

These blocks are not difficult to make, but the cutting is a bit complicated.  Because of the way they are pieced, chain-piecing would be difficult to do.  Each one will need to be made one at a time, and that makes it a little bit slow-going.  That's okay.  I'm never in any hurry when I'm sewing.

So what did you start during the month of July?  I'm just dying to see.  Now's your chance to link-up.  Everyone who links up will be entered to win this month's mini quilt block pin.

Please link-up with your newly started projects, finished or not.  If you feel like it, show us the progress you've made on your other 2012 NewFO projects.  Please link to your blog post, not your blog.  To do that, just click on the title of your post to isolate it from the rest of your blog.  Then copy the URL and use that to link up.  If you have questions about how to do that or about how to link up, please email me.  And if you're having trouble posting your image, email it to me as an attachment, and I'll do it for you.

Although the Totally Groovy QA doesn't start until 8/2, I already have my pattern and fabric! I'm so excited for this one. What a great pattern!

For another month, I've only plugged along on works in progress, nothing new. I love seeing what everybody else is working on though. Inspiration for August, maybe? Thanks again for heading up a fun linky.

I know you are on your trip so enjoy - but the linky isn't working for me - but that's ok. I love this Birch Tree pattern.

Sorry, nothing new this month. I've been on too many trips (wedding, pick up/take back son). Maybe next month.

Love the Irish doors, how creative. The white birches quilt looks like it will really be pretty. Glad I finally got the blog post done so I could link up.

I did start on a piece that I just decided was time to make into a quilt. It's been a fun adventure to start with no idea in mind how it was going to turn out and now it's ready to bind. I still have some pieces left and I think I'll start a new project for them into some sort of a "tile" piece.

Keep enjoying your trip!
