A Party for Everyone

It was a wonderful family dinner yesterday, with a party for nearly everyone in attendance.

For Mike, a 60th Birthday.

For Mae, a birthday last week.

For Matthew, a Gee-we're-glad-to-see-you-welcome-home.

For Erik, an It's-my-day-off-and-I'm-savoring-it.

For George, a We're-so-glad-you're-home-and-feeling-better.

You can see the bald patch on his back that started off the whole sequence of events last week.

A little catnip is always good for the soul

and a good chin skritchy-skritch.

Ahhhhhhh.  Life is good.

Matthew mugging for the camera in Matthew style.

Brothers.

Erik schools Matthew in the fine art of extending one's pinky while drinking wine.

For the person behind the camera, a birthday, Mother's Day, and family home day to savor.  And, lucky me, look at these beautiful fabrics I received!

The top fabric is the challenge fabric for the Forever Seasons Quilt Challenge at the Northwest Quilting Expo in Portland in September.  Now I'm kind of inspired to make something for the challenge!

Also, these great books filled with inspiration for blocks

and free motion quilting.

It was a really good day!

Lovely day to be savored. Happy Birthday, my Internet friend, many returns of the day are wished for you and your family. Mike is 60-nice age, so calm and mellow by then-I love the folks in that age group. Handsome boys there, Mom, good job. Happy, happy to Mae as well.

Beautiful fabrics-wow. What good taste the family has developed for you over the years of seeing you create the wonders that spring forth from y our talented hands.
