Irish Doll Quilt and a Winner

This morning I sat and finished the binding on the doll quilt I made for my friend Lisa's granddaughter, Irish.  I'm calling this quilt "Luck of the Irish".  I wanted to use the Gaelic translation, but the words were unpronounceable, and so I'm sticking with English.

I'm really fond of this double Irish chain pattern.

Here is the back.  It's so cheery.

It seemed fitting that a rainbow should appear yesterday just as I was finishing up this quilt.  It's one of the few good things about our rainy springs. . . well, that and our green landscape.

I half expected to see a pot of gold and a dancing leprechaun!

Well somebody's about to get lucky, because I'm choosing the winner from the March NewFO Link-Up.  Twenty-two of you linked up in March.  I generated a number at random, and came up with:

#19--Sue Daurio

I've contacted Sue via separate email.  Watch for April's NewFO Linky party to be posted on April 30th.  Share your NewFO projects and be entered to win.  There are quilt pins to be won every month of 2012.

A perfect quilt to go with your rainbow.
I read Growing Up Amish by Ira Wagler this week. It includes alot of the culture, but it's kind of negative. He eventually leaves the church. My rating is 3 out of 5 stars :)

As an Irish born person I must say this is a lovely quilt for a girl with a great name.
