Slug Fest

This morning I walked with my friend Sue.  The weather was beautiful, but the rain is supposed to be here soon, and then it's supposed to rain the whole weekend.

Mike should be home soon to hitch up the RV and head up to the Puget Sound to go scuba diving.  Better him than me.  It's going to be cold and nasty.  This morning he was bemoaning the forecast, as if he were surprised by it.  This is the Northwest, after all.  And it is March.  He was hoping for one of those crazy lucky weekends, but it isn't meant to be.  Nevertheless, the guys should have fun.  I spent the day cooking for them yesterday, so if nothing else, they will eat well.

There are several good things about having grown children.  For one thing, there are no other people on earth I would rather spend time with than my adult children.  They are such talented, interesting, and amazing people, in my humble opinion.  They are a never-ending source of joy and pride.

Second, when the cat's away (the cat being Mike in this metaphor), the mouse (me) really will play.  I have on my most comfy, grungy sweats.  My feet are snug in my slippers, and I am going to sew and sew and sew.  I have the whole rainy weekend to do nothing but sew.  No one will ask a thing of me.  Sounds delicious, doesn't it?

With that said, I'll get on with it.  The mind reels with possibilities.

Have fun Barbara!!! My husband will be out of town for a week in early April and I am so looking forward to doing just as you're doing - whatever I want to do, wearing whatever I want to wear!!!

Have a wonderful sewing filled weekend! Sounds much better than scuba diving in the cold!

Hope you are goin' to share all the fun-fabric creations that get made???

Will you watch movies, listen to music or maybe a book?

Will you take a break and go shopping?

Ahhhh, while you are sewing tomorrow, I'll be wrangling at a birthday party for around ten 3 - 5 year olds at Auntie's Ceramics! Actually the little ones are usually pretty fun, and we get to have pizza for lunch to boot. :D
