Versatile Blogger

Many thanks to Kathy Felstad Usher at Moving on to the Past for recognizing me with The Versatile Blogger award.  (Insert your own visual of me blushing with embarrassment.)  Honestly, I have gained so much from blogging.  When I started I just wanted to join in some of the link-ups.  Little did I know that my friends in the blogging community would become such an important part of my life.  Thanks to Kathy and the rest of you for following me and my kitties as we go about our little lives.  You are the best!

Here are the rules for the Versatile Blogger Award:

1. Add the award to your blog.
2. Thank the blogger who gave it to you.
3. Mention seven random things about yourself. (see below)
4. List the rules.
5. Award to 15 bloggers.
6. Inform each of those 15 by leaving a comment on their blog.

Seven random things about me:

1.  I'm very proud to say I grew up as a military brat.  My dad was a career Marine.

2.  I met my husband, Mike, when I was 16.  We'll be married 37 years in May.

3.  I've been known to drink vinegar straight from the bottle.

4.  I'm a scuba diver.

5.  I like to read historical fiction.

6.  My ancestry is Amish; i.e., quilters!

7.  I played the role of Sally in "A Charlie Brown Christmas".

Now my difficult task is to choose another 15 bloggers to honor.  My goal was to choose blogs that contribute something unique and interesting to the blogging community.  I wanted to honor bloggers who don't already have an army of followers, but deserve to, nonetheless.  My blog roll is lengthy and there are lots and lots and lots of worthy blogs.  It was difficult to winnow the list to just 15, but here goes:

In no particular order:

1.  What a Hoot! for her beautiful blocks and her BOMs Away linky party.

2.  Zzyzx & Sue for her great sense of humor.

3.  Sue Daurio's Quilting Adventures for her beautiful quilting.

4.  Sand and Sunshine for her courage in tackling the Lone Star quilt.

5.  Mrs. Pickles Garden for her attention to newbie quilters with her We Bee Learning block bee.

6.  Morning Glory Designs for sharing her gorgeous and free BOM patterns.

7.  Mareenz for her beautiful photography and for showing me her beautiful country, New Zealand.

8.  Make.Share.Give for a deceptively simple, but always interesting format.

9.  Lily Pad Quilting for her consistently good content.

10.  Life in Pieces for reminding me what it's like to manage a very busy life with teenagers.

11.  Count it all Joy for sharing tales of her lovely family and full-time RV living.

12.  Sarah did it! for her beautiful quilts.

13.  Stormy Days for showing us life in Florida and for her great blogging tutorials.

14.  501 Quilt Blocks for her interesting Zentangles.

15.  Woolensails for her unique needlework and her patterns.

These are just a few of the many blogs I enjoy daily.  You all enrich my life and stimulate my creativity.  Thank you again, Kathy, for honoring the crew of one person and two cats here at Cat Patches.
