Pretty Little Ponies Quilted

All in all it's been a couple of good sewing days for me, although I took yesterday off to save my wrist.

First of all, I want to thank Ana from Portugal who writes a blog at Ana e os Viraventos for the giveaway prizes she sent.  Ana drew my name and sent me two of my favorite charm packs:

I just love the Little Apples line, and so I'm thrilled to win these nice little prizes.  I've been perusing the Moda Bake Shop to see what I might come up with for these.  I'm kind of partial to the Pezzy Brick Road pattern.  I think that could be cute with the right arrangement.  Thank you, Ana.

Today I finished quilting the Pretty Little Ponies doll quilt.  All I need to do now is bind it and it will be ready to go to Kylee for her enjoyment.

I ended up putting horseshoes in all of the four patch blocks, and a small stipple in the sashing.  Then when I looked at the border, I saw curved lines, so I did a large curvy meander in that part.

Even if I wasn't wanting to take a break from quilting for a few days, my wrist demands it.  I finished hand-sewing the binding on the Checkerboard Flowers quilt today as well, and my wrist and hand are screaming in pain.  For tomorrow I'm going to take a look at the Just Takes 2 blocks and put aside the quilting for a few days until my hand feels better.

I'm going to get Mike to help me take a good picture of the Checkerboard Flowers quilt tomorrow, so you can be watching for that.

How is your holiday weekend going?

Such a cute little pony quilt. I love the bright colors. My weekend is going well, thank you. Nice weather and time to sew. My issues aren't with the wrists, mostly the shoulders. Quiltitis I think.

Congratulations on the fabric win, they are such fun fabrics. When I get better at machine quilting, I want to do charity quilts and the fabrics they have now, are so fun.

BRITE and sooo-sew Cheery...the horse-ee quilt.

I'm sad that you hurt after sewing. =( Maybe some chocolate can hold you over until you can sew again.

Your ponies are so sweet! And colorful :) I don't know why you were worried about doing the horseshoes - they are perfect! I have missed a few day's blogs, so I'll have to check back to see what's going on with your wrist. Hope it's better soon! =^..^=

The quilt finished nicely. I like the idea of the horseshoes! No matter what the temptation, rest that wrist until there is NO pain! You don't want to make this a constant problem. Hope it doesn't take too long.
