Before I launch into my stash report, I want to tell you that we took pictures of the Checkerboard Flowers quilt this morning. What a fiasco! Our house has plenty of square footage--more than enough for two people, actually. But we're built on three levels, and so no one floor has a lot of room . . . and none of our rooms are large. Trying to find a place to set up the camera so that it would take in the whole of a large quilt was quite an experiment in frustration. We finally got it accomplished.
Ordinarily I'm not picky about my quilt pictures, and I just lay the large ones out on the floor. Not the best arrangement, I know, but it works for me. With the Checkerboard Flowers quilt being entered in a show, however, I wanted a good picture of it. So the two of us stood on chairs and held up the quilt, and I used my remote shutter release to snap the shutter. Genius, huh? Well, not really. Practical, yes. Genius, hardly.
So with that build up, I'm going to tell you that I'm not showing you the Checkerboard Flowers quilt today. Neh, neh, neh. HowEVER, since we were all set up, I took a better picture of the Sunshine on my Shoulders quilt that I finished recently. Tune in tomorrow for the Checkerboard quilt. I'll show it for Design Wall Monday. (Now I know your teeth are just chattering with anticipation . . . because virtually everything I write is edge-of-the-seat exciting. Am I right about that?) So . . . wait for it . . .
So you might think with that little interlude that I am avoiding giving bad news on my stash report. But I'm not. Nothing in this week . . . not a whole lot out because I worked on finishes this week. The only fabric I used was for bindings and the fat quarter I gave away for Fun Fact Friday Freebie.
Fabric Used this Week: 1 1/4 yards
Fabric Used in 2012: 26 yards
Fabric Purchased: Nada
Total Fabric Purchased in 2012: 21 yards
Net Used in 2012: 5 yards
Not bad . . . 5 yards out for the year! How's your stash-busting/building going? For the efforts of others on that front, visit:

That's the front, and this is the back. We're holding the quilt sideways because it's 108 inches long, and we couldn't reach our arms that high. Then I was going to rotate the image, but it looked strange . . . as if the quilt were gravitationally challenged. So, you'll just have to see it sideways. Cock your head to the right if it bothers you. (Because this is earth-shatteringly important stuff. Am I right about that?)

Beautiful quilt. I made one like it in blue. Great numbers for the 7th week of stash busting.
More out than in is a great start to the year. I love the Sunshine on My Shoulders, it's so bright and fun. The quilts to look much better when you can take the picture with them hanging.
I bought a backdrop stand right before Christmas and love it. No more funny shaped quilts because the pictures were taken with the quilts on the floor.
Good numbers, beautiful colors, and anticipation for Monday ... what more could a girl ask for?! :)
Your quilt is so vibrant. This pattern is on my to do list. After seeing yours, I may have to move it up to the top of the list.
Just a super quilt and look forward to Monday's post.
Great picture of Sunshine on My Shoulders! You're right, I'm on the edge of my seat to see the picture of Checkerboard Flowers! I just love that quilt - YUM!!!
Another gorgeous quilt! Great numbers also.
