It's one of those crisp, cold, clear days in Oregon. It makes the wet winters we have around here bearable. We took the opportunity to go out for a walk and check out what the bobcat might have been interested in. We looked for the digging we saw him doing, but couldn't find anything. We did, however, see lots of fresh mole activity, and I'm pretty sure that's why he hangs out at our place.
We did see this stately gentleman, however.
He only leaves the area around the house when we walk with him. In his old age, he's wary of the coyotes and the bobcat. Still, he likes to poke around the wood pile for any mousies that might be lurking.
There is frost on the ground almost every morning now. We avoid the shadows when we walk because it's quite cold there. The sun is very low in the sky this time of year, and so things are lit strangely. It looks like sunset, even in the morning. When it shines on things, the frost melts, and the world turns magical.
There is an ever-growing crop of mushrooms around now too. Everywhere we look, we see more and more different varieties. I wish I knew more about them. Some are edible, I imagine, but I'm not up for testing them on my own palate.

Oh Barbara, he is beautiful in the sunlight! Don't you just love it when they sit on their hunches, especially on this fence post... Thank you for sharing this pic. I love it!
Hugs and Best wishes,
Loretta
Great shots and love how you caught the sparkle in the droplets.

Beautiful shots. George does look quite stately.
I love the light we get in the fall. It has such a warm component to it, it makes everything look different.
I love your George (right?) and mushrooms too, but I am not able to know if thery are edible or not. hugs
George does look rather stately on the fence post in the morning!
Love the droplets on the blades of grass.
Wouldn't it be nice to be able to tell what 'shrooms are edible, just by looking?
