Oh, I did a lot of sewing this week! I was trying to get a lot done since I know I'll be busy for Thanksgiving. My son, Matthew, is coming from college in Klamath Falls on Wednesday. Can't wait to see him! Erik and Mae will also be coming for Thanksgiving. They're bringing a couple of dishes, which I really appreciate. In any case, I spent most of each day this week in the sewing room. Here's what I'm working on.
I finished the top for my doll quilt swap. This still needs to be quilted and bound, but that part shouldn't take long. Mainly, I'm just doing straight lines, but I'm going to try to quilt little barns and haystacks into the border. (We'll see how that goes.) I call this quilt, "Field of Dreams". It's a paper-pieced pattern.
Also, I completed the top for a Christmas table runner. This one also needs to be quilted and bound. I'm going to quilt straight lines in the stars and a holly berry motif in the corners of the blocks and sashings, and then I'm going to do a Christmas tree motif in the border. I'm pretty much a beginner doing free motion quilting, so again, we'll just see how that goes. The longer I let it sit, the more confident I feel, however. I just need to work up the courage. This runner is for a woman who is not a family member, but might as well be.
Finally, I very nearly have the Checkerboard Flowers quilt finished. I spent the weekend finishing up the checkerboard borders and sashings and then assembling the quilt. It still has two more borders. I'm hoping to complete those today, and then it will be finished! I'm sew happy about that! There are many hours invested in this one.
My goals for the week are to finish the Checkerboard Flowers quilt top, do the quilting on my doll quilt and the table runner, and complete the paper-pieced block for the There and Back Again BOM I'm involved with. That might be an energetic agenda, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Love the doll quilt, very pretty. So is the table runner and the Checkerboard Flowers quilt. You have had a busy week!
I like all 3 of your pieces posted. Love the fabric you picked for the barn quilt! So much work in the checkerboard quilt...WOW!
Oh My! Love the checkerboard border with your applique blocks. I have some floral applique blocks that may lend themselves to a similar setting. That will be a project for 2012. And you are so right to set your goals...I find just listing them on my blog seems to make them happen very often.
