Yesterday's Projects

Yesterday was a busy day for me.  I went swimming and then went to the grocery store, which left little time for sewing.  Just the same, those short sewing segments are good for doing small projects.  I made the first clock for the


This is a new Block of the Month project started up this month at Canton Village Quilt Works.  This is a scrap quilt project.  Here's my take on the first block:




This is an 8 1/2-inch block, and so it's suitable even for small scraps.  You can find the instructions for the first block (and all the skinny on this project) here.

I had hoped to do the Gandalf block for the


but I ran out of time.  Today I'm going to try to finish up another row of blocks for the Sunshine on my Shoulders quilt and then move on to Gandalf.  However, the rain has stopped, temporarily at least.  I really should try to get outside for a while.  There won't be many opportunities in the coming months and I know my trusty sidekick, George, would appreciate it.

Oh your redwork stocking is wonderful! Can't wait to see your Gandalf offering! And your George is quite handsome. I bet he's a love! :)

Wonderful block! Someday I'm going to make a truly scrappy quilt (another added to my wish list). Your stitcheries are so cute!
