My "Winter Wonderland" quilt came back from the quilter today. As usual, my quilter, Tammi, worked wonders with it. I didn't spread the whole thing out because it still needs binding and it hasn't been trimmed and squared up yet. But as a reminder, here is the unquilted quilt top.
I asked Tammi to quilt snowflakes on it with pearlescence thread. It turned out so pretty, although the sparkle in the thread is hard to see in a photograph. This is sort of an overall view of the quilt:
And here are some close-up shots of the quilting. I'm hoping you can see the snowflakes and the stars.
These next two probably show off the sparkle the best out of the ones I took.
I know . . . kind of hard to see it. It's so much prettier in person. I'm planning to put hot fix crystals on the embroidered snowflakes. I'm trying to decide whether to bind it first or do the snowflakes first. I'll probably do the snowflakes first just because I'm anxious to see how it's going to look. What would you do?

Ooohhhh....how beautiful! What would I do? I'd sew the binding on first. That way, while I was putting the crystals on, I could be adminring the beautiful binding on my 99.95 completed quilt. And I have no idea what "hot fix crystals" are and how you put them on a quilt. Just sayin'
OMG!!!! It is so beautiful. Congreats on the wonderful finish and just in time.
Beautiful! I love blue and white. The holidays are coming way to fast.
I don't think I could stand to wait...I'd be puttin' those crystals on first! LOL
It is absolutely gorgeous!
Barbara this is beautiful!
I love the snowflakes
Lovely! All that hand work, wow.
YOUR QUILT IS LOVELY1 CANNOT IMAGINE HOW THE SHINY THREAD LOOKS UP CLOSE!
YOU HAVE A "CHRISTMAS HEIRLOOM"!
THANKS SO FOR SHARING!
Wish I could see it in person. I love the quilted snowflakes, and I bet it looks amazing with the thread!
It looks FAB*U*LOUS!!!
I've never used those hot fix crystals, so I don't know which way would be easier, sorry.
It's absolutely beautiful Barbara! An impressive finish!
Wow, Barbara - this is beautiful. I still have not had mine quilted as I haven't found the thread to use. Maybe the pearlescense is the answer. Thanks for showing this beauty. Judy C in NC
It looks STUNNING! I don't know what to suggest about binding but would they snag or come off as you did the binding after putting them on?
Beautifully done! Definitely a heirloom quilt. Love the quilting, the snowflakes are beautiful.
Oh how beautiful. I have been buying fabric (blues and whites) for several years to do this quilt. You have made me want to "get with it!" Thanks.
