One Block Closer

The seventh of nine blocks for my "Let Sleeping Cats Lie" quilt is finished now.  Two more to go before I can start sewing them together.

I'm going to try to finish a block per week, and then I'll have one week left to put it all together; that is, if I'm going to actually finish it in September like I'm hoping.  We'll see.

For now, I'm starting on my September doll quilt swap.  I'm using this Miniature Bear's Paw quilt pattern I found for free on the internet at About.com, although my fabrics are quite different.  (I feel I must link back to the pattern because I'm using their picture on my blog.  However, you should know that there is at least one error in the cutting instructions.)

The quilt will be 19 x 19 inches when it's finished.  The theme for this quilt is black and white and one other color.  I'm using a bright green with my black and white.

This is the end of my sewing day . . . a nice way to spend a very warm Labor Day.  I hope you all had an enjoyable day as well.

Are you sure you did enough this week, lol.
Love all your new pieces and the way your kitten's tale came out.

The cat blocks are really cool. This week’s red/purple looks great, always a favorite combo of mine.

I got a PM this morning that my DQ swap partner has already finished hers & needed my address!!!
Yikes! I've pulled fabric, but haven't been able to make up my mind about what pattern to use. Well, I do have the rest of the month still....

Ohhh, I love the kitties! I have a similar pattern, but the cats are sitting upright. They almost look better sleeping. (More normal for my house, at least.)
