Most of my week has been spent in the kitchen, and so I didn't get as much sewing done as I would have liked. I did meet the goals I set silently for myself, however. I made the back for my Winter Wonderland quilt, and that will be off to the quilter on Wednesday. Also, I finished the binding on my Kitten's Tale quilt, and it now hangs in my family room.
I used "Hang-ups" to hang it. I really like these. Mine are the smaller ones. I've used them before. They're relatively inexpensive, and I like the way they display the quilt. Also, I can change out a different quilt if I like without too much trouble.
These are the Walnut colored ones.
Then, I made a little more progress on the first stitchery for my "Day in the Life" quilt. This one is almost finished!
Finally, I started the 7th of nine blocks for my "Let Sleeping Cats Lie" quilt, which is the quilt I need to finish this month for my 2011 UFO Challenge (Revisited).
These colors don't photograph well. It's a very dark purple and an orange red. I'll be adding the final pieces to this block and then doing the applique cat faces in each corner. I love this snail's trail block.
That's it for me this week. I'm hoping to get more sewing done next week, but Matthew will be home for a few days from college (a much-looked-forward-to-visit from him). How much time I spend sewing will depend on how much time he spends at home while he's here. He likes to see his friends, and that's certainly understandable.

Lots going on in your sewing room. The purple and red-orange "Sleeping Cats" block is going to be bright and look great with the other blocks you've finished. Looking forward to seeing it up on the wall with the rest. Next week maybe?
Enjoy your visit with Matthew.
What fun things you've got going on! Your "Day in the Life" stitchery is precious. I love redwork! And your "Kitten's Tale" quilt is marvelous -- congrats! Have a great week! :)
Your projects are terrific. And thank you for the link to "Hang Ups". I'm going to check those out.
I too love your snails trail. One of these days I'm going to make a quilt with them. The orangy red and purple is great. I'm kinda into an orangy gold and purple phase right now! Well, buying those colors anyway! Toni
Your kittens quilt looks MARVELOUS hanging up! :D
I was later than usual for the BOMs Away posting, but it's up now if you'd like to share your newest stitchery. Hope you're enjoying the holiday weekend. I'm enjoying having the tropical storm around to match my mood and the luxury of being allowed to sleep in until 8 each morning without looking like a depressed sloth! lol :D
this quilt is lovely. hugs
Your redwork is looking great - such nice stitching. :)
I really do like your snail trail cat blocks. One of these days....
