Mountain Top View

We still haven't made our way to the beach to ride our ATV's.  A marine layer of clouds has moved into the valley and made our days cloudy and cool until after noon.  Today, we had a much nicer day.  Someone came by to look at some problems with the deck we had resurfaced last summer though, and so we needed to be at home.

We decided to ride the ATV's to the top of our hill and take in the view on the other side.  This is the view of the Willamette Valley overlooking Newberg, Oregon.  Paragliders often jump from this spot where we are standing.

The is the view looking more to the north.

We aren't really supposed to be riding our ATV's on these roads, but we see so few police cars on our hill, that we don't really worry about it.  The roads are all dirt where we live, and so cars necessarily drive a little slower than they would on paved roads.  Besides, there just aren't very many cars.

After that, we came home and picked the first raspberries from our vine.  Erik and Mae gave us these raspberry vines several years ago, and they produce a surprising amount of fruit for the effort involved.  I have an idea that they produce abundantly in the hope we will neglect them less.

We might have had enough for some raspberry sorbet, except that most of them ended up in our tummies.

What a nice way to spend the day.

What a lovely day and to top it off with fresh berries-well, that’s as good as icing.

Sounds like you had a nice day today. Those berries look yummy....they wouldn't make it into sorbet here. :^)
Did you see the cherry sherbet that Pioneer Woman just did? I bought some cherries today & may try to make some of that.
