Instead of Sleeping . . .

I had a sleepless night last night.  No idea why.  It was as if I'd had several cups of coffee right before bed.  That wasn't the case, however, and there was nothing particular on my mind.  Ahhhhhhh, the joys of being menopausal.  (That's the only thing I can think of.)  When I was still awake at 3:30 a.m., I decided I might as well get up.  I used the time to finish the doll quilt for my doll quilt swap.  I'm so happy with how this turned out.  It ended up being 19 x 14 inches.

I'm calling this quilt "Limeade."  I used scraps and fatquarters from my stash.  All of these fabrics have been used in other quilts.  Here's what the back looks like.  I hope my swap partner likes it.

This is the first time I've participated in this doll quilt swap.  It was such fun to make a quilt so quickly.  I'll probably participate in this swap each month from now on.  This was my first time cutting binding on the bias, and it worked out great.  I can see how this is a good opportunity to try something new, learn a new technique, and use up scraps of fabric.

I have had that problem for years now and chalked it up to menopause, found out it was the lyme. I always read myself to sleep, that is the only way I can shut my brain off;)

My sleep comes in snatches four or five hours at a time, sometimes in the middle of the day sometimes the middle of the night. I’m glad the web works 24/7.

Beautiful little quilt! I really like the biased cut binding. Sorry to hear that it was a sleepless night - hopefully tonight will be better.

I am sorry you couldn't sleep, but thak you for posting about it now I know I am not alone. I have been blaming it on working nights but I think your being menopausal answer might just be closer to the truth.

Like some of the others, I have that problem too! I guess we just have to admit that we're gettin' older! LOL
Love that doll blanket; your color choices are so nice. I believe your partner will like it very much (but if she doesn't you have my mailing address! Heehee!)
