Today is Cat Patches' one year birthday! When I started blogging, I thought it would be just to link up to certain linky parties in blogland. Little did I know that I would have so much fun in this virtual community. It's been an opportunity to learn, to create, to share, to give and receive encouragement, and to meet people from all over the world. Those of you who follow and comment regularly have begun to feel like old friends. You are a creative and talented group, and I am fortunate to have found you.

Whoopee...I already have your fabulous "cat patches" button on my blog. I, too, love cats! Have many outside and 2 very spoiled ones in the house with me. They were born a month before Katrina hit us down here, so I sat in the bathroom and held them during the storm. Makes them kinda special to me.

I like to read on the porch swing and while away the day while soaking up some sun. Also, Had all 10 grandkids here this weekend..all under 7! Reading to them, planning picnics in the park and a special treat at the ice cream shop which a 6 yr old dubbed Happy Freeze :)

personally i'm not that keen on summer. all to hot and sticky for me! give me autumn any time. i would say spring but then i'm dogged with hayfever!

My favorite summer activity is exploring new things with my four year old son. We enjoy swimming, finding new parks, bugs, mud puddles... Every Friday is picnic night and my husband, son and I pack a picnic and go to a park. I always love to see what my son puts in the picnic basket that he feels is important (a big tub of butter, bubbles, a truck...)
