After my last post, I went and soaked in the hot tub. I'm steeling myself for a trip to the grocery store, you understand. Anyway . . . while I was sitting there, I had a brain fart about how to do this Oregon State quilt for Erik, and I got kind of excited about it.
First off, I figured out how to scan that Oregon State fabric into my fabric library. (I don't think I filed it in the right place, but I'll figure that out later.) Then, I had some ideas about how to make an interesting quilt. This is what I came up with:
Not bad, huh? Hm. I don't know if this is how I'll leave it. I'm thinking I might put another narrow black border between the checkerboard border and the next orange one, and then maybe another one on the other side of the outer orange border. I'll have to try all these combinations out and see how I feel about it. Maybe I'll put the footballs on the corners of the checkerboard border. Uh, oh . . . I'm verging into cough syrup syndrome territory. Better stop thinking about it. Who knows how it will end up?
In any case, this is the first time I've felt kind of excited about this whole quilt design endeavor. I'm interested in your suggestions. What do you think I should do with this?

Very nice. I like it as is. I am impressed that you scanned your fabric into EQ and came up with this.
Whoops, premature comment on the last blog post. I guess I need to read all the way through! Congrats on figuring out the scanning.
I like your design. I have some OSU fabric too that looks really similar. It's orange and black, but mine has Pistol Pete on it in the blocks opposite the letters (Oklahoma State University).
I like the basic design of this one! I think I would add those 2 black borders too, maybe vary the widths a bit, making those 2 outer ones a little wider?
