Design Wall Monday--May 23, 2011

I finished July's block for "Home is Where the Heart Is."

I did the fusing on Saturday and finished stitching them down on Sunday.  August's block is done too.  Next I'll start working on September.  I'm looking forward to getting all these backed-up block of the month blocks finished up so that I can work on something else!

I did two of the Double-X stars for my 2011 UFO Challenge.

I've been working on the stitcheries for this one too, and I'm up-to-date with those.

Finally, I started a new image for my Quilt University class. I think this one will be easier for me.

Here's what I have so far.

I'm going to use a lot of thread and shading on the grass to get it to the right green color, but I liked this gold to bring out the gold in the grass in the image.  Next I'm going to start putting the buildings in, and then I think it will come together a little better.

That's pretty much it for me this week.  For more design walls go to:

Nice work on all of your projects. The sailboats are darling.

What a fun variety to keep playing with! The barn photo/Quilt University project is terrific. The gold looks just right as the undertone.
