Design Wall Monday--March 21, 2011

Happy Spring!  I have the perfect design wall for you!  This is the "Spring Sampler" from last Spring's Fabshophop.  I got it back from my long arm quilter back in December before we left on our trip.  It's been waiting quietly with the rest of the house for our return.  I decided, this being Sunday, I was going to take the day off from putting things back in order and work on the binding for this quilt (which is now officially a UFO--but not for much longer).

I'm about 3/4 of the way around it.  By the way, I use those Dritz Binding and Hem Clips, and I really like them.  I'm not getting poked with pins, nor am I dropping pins for bare feet to step on.  I use an old sewing machine needle at the corner for a more exact fastener (it's easier to see than a pin if I drop it).

I haven't given this quilt an official name yet.  I'm thinking something like "Garden Party" or "Hail Spring."  What do you think?

That's all the sewing I've done this week.  I've been unloading and reorganizing and, generally, trying to get back in a routine.  As of this morning, my sewing room is ship shape and ready for me to stitch to my heart's content.  What's on your design wall?

Very pretty Barb! I think "Garden Party" is a great name for your quilt.

I love it Barbara. I think you should name it "Garden Party".

I like "Hail Spring" for 2 reasons: it's more unique than "Garden Party" which I've heard a few times and, if you're in a part of the country that's been experiencing some of the incredible weather that some of us have had, the word "hail" is appropriate! LOL!!

Either name works for me. It's an adorable quilt.

This is a lovely quilt! I like both names but I favor Garden Party more. I love to see fresh colors like this, thanks for sharing.

Loving Hail Spring for the name of this gem you have constructed. The color selection pleases my eye and the design with the huge variety jumps out at me.
