Before I start, I wanted to let you know that I'm having a Giveaway at the end of the month. There will be three winners and lots of ways to get extra chances at winning the grand prize. Check it out!
I worked on just one quilt this week. It's the pattern I found in a Fons & Porter Love of Quilting magazine. Here's their version:
I purchased the panel, only mine has a black background. I decided to make this quilt because I had some beautiful tulip fabric in my stash. Mine had a black background, however, and so I was so happy that the panel came that way. Here's the fabric from my stash:
Pretty, huh? I was also able to find a matching border print that I'm going to use to make matching pillowcases. This quilt is Queen sized, and it's destined for my guestroom bed. It'll be so pretty in there.
But to get back to my Design Wall, I have a good shot at finishing this quilt before we take off on our winter RV trip. I finished up the last of the tulips this week:
and then I was able to start sewing the quilt together. Basically, it consists of a center panel with 15(!) borders. I'm up to the eighth border. There will be a wide border of the tulip fabric above, and another border of tulips before I'm finished. It'll be bound in the dark yellow.
The colors aren't true here. What appears as a dark blue tulip is actually a purple one. I'm hoping to get this finished by next week, but border after border is a little boring. I'm not sure I can stick with it for another week. Time will tell, I guess.
Now I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest of you have done. Happy sewing!

Those 15 borders are exactly why I didn't do that quilt! More power to you for attempting it. It is beautiful so far.
This is absolutely beautiful so far. I can't wait to see the finished product. Your guest room will be so gorgeous.
Keep going -it is gorgeous. I like it better with the black - its more vibrant.
Wow! I didn't like the one on the magazine cover, but I love yours. The black makes all the difference.
I like yours so much better, the colors are perfect. I would never have made the cover one, because I don't like it. I really like yours.
Very nice. I had to look back at the magazine to even realize you were using any of the pattern.
Excellent, but I don't envy you those borders.
Beautiful quilt! Love the colors!
Beautiful quilt! It makes me smile just looking at it. Good job!
It is so beautiful.
I have to say, that is one nice quilt. Glad to see it all coming together so well. Good color choices (even if the purple shows up as a darker blue online)
