Welcome to the Blogger's Quilt Festival and thanks for stopping by! This marks my sixth year participating with the festival and it's one of my favorite events of the year. Today, I'm entering a quilt I finished this past summer: A Gardener's Journal
This quilt is hand-embroidered and it was the first quilt I quilted on the new Baby Lock Tiara II mid-arm machine, purchased last spring. It ended up as something of a quilting sampler as I put my new machine (and my own skill) through its paces.
The quilt is from a pattern of the same name by Anni Downs at Hatched and Patched. The original pattern pictures featured the quilt done in browns and reds. I had so many blue scraps left over from a previous project, that I decided to do mine in a palette of blues and aquas.
It won a blue ribbon in this year's Oregon State Fair, which was thrilling.
It owes its success to my kitties who gave it a rigorous going over when the quilting was finished. You can see the comments from the toughest judges of all right here as they gave it their furrnal exam.
A Gardener's Journal finishes up at 55 x 55 inches. It's hand embroidered and free motion quilted on my mid-arm machine.
I have a second entry in the "Mini Quilts" category of this festival. You can see my other entry right here. And this being my sixth year entering the Blogger's Quilt Festival, I thought you might like to check out my entries in previous festivals. You can see them right here.

I love this quilt Barbara, and you furrever quilting inspectors too!
You just keep getting better and better! :)
Of course, this is going to get a vote of mine!
Another one of my favorites from your collection. I looked back at all your entries and realized that I'd seen each one of them. I couldn't pick a favorite from that list. You've made some gorgeous quilts over the years.
I love the beautiful hand embroidery!
I love how you quilted it.
It's nice to see the Journal again - especially with that LOVELY blue ribbon on it!!
